So your saying the majority of fans from Wheelersburg let's say 300 fans and that's got to be on the low side. That 150 or more fans think this ref is homering the Pirates when he's on the floor because 15-20 years ago, in your mines Barrick got a technical( maybe he deserved it ) and now he's favoring teams playing against Pirates.

One team shot 8 more free throws. Made 4 more free throws. And won the game by 17.

The losing team took 1 more FG attempt than the winning team. The losing team took 36 2's. The winning team took 39 2's.

But the losing team wasn't getting calls so they didn't go to the bucket and struggled?

At the end of the day, I watched the game. One team flat out took the fight to the other team. The team that took the fight won the game handily and they had practice on Monday. The other team started baseball and track.

Congrats to the Mohawks and a couple of fine young men in that senior class!
You just don’t get it. The baseline ref wasn’t making any calls. Let Northwest just hammer them. The other guys had to make the calls. Northwest was better (have to say that or I sound like a sore loser) but they could drive and get calls and Burg couldn’t, because in 2008 Barrick said something to this guy and he has held a grudge since. The world revolves around Burg, everyone is obsessed, that’s why we got screwed and lost to the better team.
“The world revolves around Burg, everyone is obsessed…”

I cannot comment on everyone, but you certainly seem obsessed with Burg.

You have to admit , this referee grudge no call thing is a bit over the top.

What I said:
- First I said the better team won. That if these two teams played 10x, NW would win at least 7 of them.

- Said one official was clearly calling fouls two different ways. Not sure his reason, but it was obvious

Based on that comment, you would have thought I shot the Pope! The Ironton trolls lost their minds.

Now if I would have blamed the loss on the officials, that would have been worthy of such critique. But saying a particular official did a bad job is simply not that big of a deal.

The interesting part of the debate is that those making the noise are Ironton people. A town notorious for their biased football officials; still get a kick out of what Ironton officials try to pull on Moeller. They had more penalties called on them in that game than any other game all season, and by a wide margin! LOL!!

I don't know why he has it out for Burg and I would say yes to the amount of fans from Burg that do not like to see him officiate a Burg game.

I know it started with him while Barrick was the coach at Burg so that is why I assume it has to do with something Barrick said to him.

I would love to see a breakdown of all the fouls he has called in all the games he has officiated that Burg was playing in. I've seen fouls happen right in front of him that another official ended up calling.

Holden's Senior year, Burg was playing Waverly at waverly. he was one of the officials. In the first two minutes of the game he called two fouls each on Holden and Salyers that sent them both to the bench. He called I believe 7 fouls on Burg in the first quarter. He himself that put Waverly at the line in the first quarter. Burg somehow pulled out the win with the guys on the bench coming through and playing a great game. Schwarzel for some reason cooled off in the second half and didn't call as many fouls.

He's never called an equal game and is always one sided in the burg games I've watched over the years and no one knows why. He is from Athens so should be no beef there. Don't think he ever faced Burg in HS so no beef there.

The game is still online. Why don’t some of you point out some timestamps of some obviously missed calls by Kevin? You can prove us Ironton trolls wrong.

When you point out the so called fouls , please put the time each one occurred in your eyes, so we can all see these one sided calls. Then we all can be the judge, not a select few!

Here you go:
1. Clear hand checking on Lattimore with no call (this happened a lot and was very obvious). Kudos to Jenkins for getting away with it.
2. Lattimore fouled on three point (defender steps under him) no call; bad no-call due to the dangers of this action. Even the announcer commented on that. To be fair, Jenkins again grabbed Lattimore before the shot, then Lattimore pushed off. Three fouls on that one play with no call.
3. Burg player called for foul on Bolin. Questionable at best. Defender straight up.
4. Out of bounds call that went NW way. Even the NW player seemed surprised.
5. Rucker travel #1: he did lift his pivot foot but was hit by Bolin at the same time. Could have went either way.
6. Two questionable held balls, but this ended up even since NW and Burg each benefited.
7. McGraw first foul. Questionable.
8. Bolin knocks Lattimore down when Lat had the ball. No call.
9. McGraw second foul. The NW defender actually hooks McGraw. Should have been called on NW. Kudos to the NW player for getting away with that one.
10. NW reach foul on Rucker not called. Normally wouldn’t question that, but Lat gets called later for doing the same thing.
11. Fourth foul on McGraw. Terrible call. Announcer says McGraw may have fouled on the floor but refs called it a shooting foul. McGraw did not foul him during the shot. Couldn’t tell if anything on the floor. Looked clean.
12. Second Rucker travel. This time, he did not lift his pivot foot.
13. Bolin ploughs Lattimore. No charge call.
14. Rucker pushed going to the basket. No call.
15. Jenkins gets shot blocked going to basket pulls Rucker down as he goes out of bounds. No foul call. Again, kudos to NW player for getting away with that.
16. Lattimore called for reach under the basket. Ref 3’ away does not make call. Ref at half court does. No way could he have seen that play since the action was only visible from the baseline.
17. Evans block on Bolin. Was clean but called a foul.

There was a lot of stuff that went both ways that I left out. Overall, Bolin benefited the most from the no-calls and the foul calls on Burg. Jenkins also benefited greatly. McGraw and Lattimore got hosed the most.

As for time stamps, get off your lazy, 2-star educated a$$ and do your own homework. Hopefully they taught you the definition of “homework” at Ironton.

What he said!! NW was able to play physical and Burg wasn't. Majority of the calls or no calls happened right in front of Schwarzel so it is what it is. Just go watch him and how emphatic he is when he calls a foul on Burg. It's flat pathetic the joy that man gets when he refs against Burg.

Bottomline is we Burg fans could give a rats ass what you all think about what we say about this one ref. We have watched him for well over 15 years call a horrible game every time he has Burg. Every game he has officiated the Burg kids bust their ass only to have them shot them down by him.

If the officiating was fair and both teams allowed to be physical , do you think Burg wins the game ?

No.

If these teams played 10x, NW would win 7 of them. Why? Physical play is part of basketball, and the NW team is more physical. Plus NW had two of the top three players on the court in Bolin and Lintz. Maybe Burg sophomores get to that level in a year or two, but they are not at that level now.

Take the L... move on. Losing by 17 and blaming the refs is absurd.

We'll move onto baseball season-let NW have this one... it doesn't come around often for them there McDermott folk.

Reading comprehension is a problem on this entire board!!

Not once did I blame the refs for the loss. Just posted that Burg loses this game even if the refs call it clean.

Just responding to the Ironton trolls.
