D3: I think Portsmouth should be atlease 13 or 14. They are playing better basketball now and have some good wins.
D4: Looks good, maybe with possibility of switching Eastern & ND. Eastern has good wins of Valley and Eastern. I know earlier in the season but it's still a W. ND has defeated Green and Western. Played #3 SW to a 3 point game in which the Titans lead majority of the game. St Joe is a different team with their big man. Trimbles loss to Southern may drop them below Whiteoak. Overall, good predictions.

Portsmouth can hang with anybody offensively, with 3 legitimate good scorers, but if the defense doesn't tighten up, we'll be one and done. 66 PPG given up in OVC games, last in the conference.

Even though they are now D2, watch out for Ironton. They have a solid starting 5 and some depth off the bench.

South Point is a well rounded team and will be a tough out in the tournament. 1,000 point scorer in Lovely.

Minford is the team to beat in D3, but they'll be playing as the favorite which comes with more pressure.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Valley make a good tourney run. I've seen them, they can shoot and have the big man Stewart.

South Webster is always a team to watch, given that they play up a division more than any D4 team. SOC II not easy for a D4 school.

North Adams is a legitimate threat with Copas at PG. One of the best players in the SE district. Got his 1,000th point vs. Portsmouth.

As much as I'd like to make a prediction on any division my knowledge is limited besides the D2 teams. I honestly don't get to see a lot of other teams besides the local ones (Warren, Belpre, Marietta, Waterford, etc). I will say that this years D2 is probably as open as it's been in a long time with no clear cut favorite.

I copied this from the Martin RPI website. Does this mean whether you play a great team or a weak team from out of state they are assigned an average strength of schedule factor on your overall rating?

Q: How are games against Out-of-State (OOS) teams calculated?
A: OOS teams are assigned their true winning percentage, and their SoS rating is an automatic value of .5000. Thousands of results throughout the country in a variety of states that have used the RPI reveal that in the end, the relatively few games against OOS teams over the years average our and vary minimally statistically from that .5000 value.

Going to be difficult for South Webster to not be paired up against an SOC 1 school….maybe somehow in the 4/5 with Paint Valley.

If South Webster is 3 then Whiteoak at 11 is perfect….

Based on resume, you don't think SW is the 3 and Whiteoak very likely one of the teams in the 11 range? How would that be a conspiracy this year given what they've each done?

No…they fit right into those ranges pretty well, but wouldn’t matter if they didn’t.

Assuming ironman92’s post was tongue-in-cheek as it been a running joke on here for years that Webster and a team from SHL somehow get matched up by coaches. Seedings not as easy to manipulate now with Super Sectional though.*

Green is locked in as the #5 seed. The only question is if South Webster or Paint Valley is the #3. I could see that going either way.

Notre Dame is about a 90% chance at the #6 IMO. Eastern Pike has an outside shot to get it, but I'd be surprised if that happened.

In my opinion the top 9 are all locked in and easy to seed. After that I think it will be a jumbled mess and who knows who gets what.
1. FF
2. FH
3. SW
4. PV
5. Green
6. ND
7. Eastern Pike
8. Western
9. Waterford

Can we finagle a way to get South Webster and Paint Valley in the 4/5 with Fairfield the 1? I think the right coaches can get it done again.

How long you going to continue to wear that poor narrative out? It surely happened some years...but not every year. Let it go.

Nope. It’s been shady so many times in the last 20+ years. If it’s not this year I’ll note it.

Yeah…exactly my point. Why does it bother you so much? I have nothing in this. I’ve never rooted for South Webster.

Pay no attention to socsportsfan, he’s a very negative individual. Every so often he’ll attempt to use big words to sound intelligent because that matters to him. But 95%+ of the time he just uses SEOPS to talk down to people so he feels better about himself.

Unfortunate that you feel that way. When have I posted in such a way to you bbjunky? I would like to think that I just try to interject some logic and sound reasoning when it is lacking. Your posts usually aren't, therefore no conflict.

Ironman, just pointing out that it gets old. Especially when it is more speculative than factual. To say that you have never rooted for SW seems less than truthful. I think over the years the average person would assume a SHAC and SW bias from your posts. Knowing your Jackson and Whiteoak connections those make some sense, not sure about SW but you have posted in their defense quite a bit. Why are you hurt by that suggestion?

Swanker, you're right, I don't like you. You don't post or respond with logic or facts and choose to act like an immature teenager. You don't like that I have called you out for being an SW homer who has no playing experience. You are the one who attempts to belittle people with classless wit and negative talk toward others. I have posted other things to contribute to this site. Often, the facts get ignored.
