This is one of the most wide open D3 years we've had in awhile. There's a legit 10-12 teams that I think COULD win the district if they get hot. There are definitely no heavy favorites.

Fairland, Zane Trace, Minford, Eastern Brown are probably the top 4 in some order.

Chesapeake, South Point, Wheelersburg, West are probably in the next tier.

Then you have awhole bunch of teams that will be tough outs in the tournament: Portsmouth, Piketon, Ironton, Alexander, North Adams, Westfall, Meigs, and even Northwest could all potentially make some noise.

1. Minford
2. Eastern brown
3. Fairland
4. Zane Trace

The rest is a mess. I agree with the statement that 10-12 teams could win the district. We’re going to see some great tournament games in SE Ohio this year

I believe West is 7-10 after consecutive losses to Valley and Northwest this week. I doubt they get seeded in the top 8.

The breakdown for league representation in SE District D III :

OVC 7
SVC 6
TVC 6
SOC 5
SHAC 4
MVL 1

It will be interesting to see if the league members stick together for the seeding.

Too similar in numbers to matter much unless all 7 OVC went kinda extreme

Fairland does have that head to head win over Eastern at their home court though and they had all players healthy. Just saying…

I just can’t see Minford getting enough support for the #1 seed.

I wasn’t guessing…these are mine but unfortunately D3 cross country coaches don’t get to vote on this one

29 teams in super sectional. Top 3 with a a bye? That would give us 13 teams plus 3 bye teams after 1st rd and then 8 winners to district.

Pretty certain that is correct Sir

Ironton, who is sub.500 at the #6? That is laughable. Having one really good win (Fairland) does not give you that much of a bump. What about the bad losses? They were down 25 to Wheelersburg less than 2 weeks ago before the Pirates pulled their starters. Wheelersburg has 3 more wins than the Tigers and you have them at #9. MattyIce, why wouldn't Minford be the top seed? They have the best record of all these teams and they have the best win (Waverly) of any team in the bracket.

Ironton is 8-8 with solid wins over Fairland, Gallia, and South Point. They have tough losses to Elliot Co, Ky, Boyd Co, Ky, and Russell Ky. Their schedule is as tough as any in this Sectional. Minford lost to Div IV Valley and Webster with one solid win over Waverly, early in the year. Hopefully this debate gets settled on the court. It’s almost tourney time.

Valley would be a top 4 seed in this bracket as well. Them being DIV is irrelevant considering they play in a DIII-heavy league. That South Point win is looking less impressive all the time. You also going to completely ignore the whipping the Tigers took at the hands of Wheelersburg 2 weeks ago? If we're going to nitpick Minford's losses (to teams that are ranked at the top of DII and DIV in the district) where did Ironton's other 4 losses come from? It always is settled on the court in the end, but it does not change the issue that Ironton is in no way deserving of the 6 seed in this bracket.

Ironton won at Fairland playing back to back nights. Valley would be in the middle of the pack in the OVC. South Point is going to be a top 8 seed and you are discounting that win. They, too, beat a very good Fairland team. What are Wheelersburg’s quality wins and what are their bad losses? Ironton lost at Burg after playing at Chesapeake the night before, Burg did not play the night before they played Ironton.
When they do the seeding, why do they want to know a teams record against teams in all the Divisions? Do you think that factors in to their quality of schedule?
