Alexander 15 13 15 23 - 66
Trimble 12 9 12 27 - 61
The Alexander Spartans did something most teams have not been able to do against Trimble and that's use their size to an advantage. 6'5 Zach Barnhouse finished with 16 points, grabbed a game high 13 rebounds and added 2 blocks. 6'6 Cam Houpt scored 19 points and pulled down 9 rebounds and 6'1 PG Kyler DeAugustino scored a team high 25 for Alexander, which has won 3 out of 4 to improve to (7-8) on the season. The Spartans controlled the game from start to finish leading 15-12 after the first, 28-21 at halftime, 43-34 after the 3rd, before pulling out the 66-61 victory. They were 25-38 from the free throw line, including converting 14 from the charity stripe in the final frame as the Tomcats tried to make a run. Only three players converted field goals on the night for Alexander DeAugustino, Barnhouse and Houpt. Jermiah Clark was 6-of-10 from the free throw line for the Spartans only other points. Only one three pointer was made: DeAugustino in the 2nd Q.

The Tomcats, who had been quarantined for two weeks prior to the contest, won the turnover battle by forcing 18 while only turning it over 8 times themselves. But scoring was hard to come by as Alexander packed the paint with its bigs. Austin Wisor scored a game high 29 points and Blake Guffey chipped in with 14. Trimble falls to (11-3) overall and will be back in action next week with a rare Thursday night game at Marietta.
