Warren 56
Logan 51 a final

... a battle of old SEOAL foes the Warren Warriors of Coach Blane Maddox and the Logan Chieftains of Coach Chris Rider ... a tight contest throughout the game as Logan led after one 12-9 on an at the buzzer , off the glass trey by Mason Frasure ... Logan was paced in the 1st by Tegan Myers' 5 points while the BBB spread out the scoring with Bandon Simoniette matching Frasure's triple with a 3 ball of his own ... Logan 12 Warren 9 after one ...the 2nd period was an offensive explosion by both teams as Warren found offense in their 2nd rotation led by senior Evan Byrd's 8 points in the quarter (2 treys and a deuce) Isaac Colgrove added 4 pts/ Brayden Sallee with 2 pts ...Brandon Simoniette drilled his 2nd triple of the game (5 pts in the qtr/8 for half) ... Logan kept pace with the Warriors by ringing up 17 points in the period - Mason Frasure adding his 2nd triple and a 2 pointer ... Tegan Myers added his 2nd trey while 6-6 big man in the middle Justin Wolfe dropped in 6 points along with fellow senior Connor Ruff throwing down a deep triple off the left wing ... Warren took a 30-29 lead into the locker room as Simoniette put back an offensive rebound for a reverse putback bucket as time ran out ... Warren 30 Logan 29 at intermission ... the 3rd period was like watching paint dry as both teams struggled from the field , Logan didn't get it's first point in the quarter until Justin Wolfe dropped a FT with 4:51 on the clock ... the only fgs for the Purple in the quarter were from Ian Frasure (2 fgs) ... the Warriors looked like they were getting the separation needed to pull away taking an 8 point lead in the 3rd on the back of Simoniette's 3rd triple and a pair of fgs from Josh Welch BUT this one was going to be a tight game as Logan chipped away drawing to within 1 point at the 3rd quarter ended ... Warren 37 Logan 36 after 3 ... the Warriors outscored Logan in the final quarter 19-15 as WHS went to the line and survived 11/15 shooting from the line to go with a couple timely Jake Bumgard putback baskets (9 points in the quarter - 2 fgs 5/5 from the line) ... Logan got to 41-42 with 6:00 on the clock ... the BBB kept LHS at arms length the rest of the way 54-51 Warren at :30.7 seconds to play ... Warren 55 Logan 51 a final ...

... this one was close all the way around ... both teams went 5/18 from behind the 3 point line ... both teams failed to light it up from the FT line Logan 10/18 Warren 13/22 ... TO's Logan turned it over 15 times vs Warren's 10 ... Points in the Paint were even'ish Logan 11 fgs/22 points in the paint vs Warren 13 fgs /26 points in the paint ...

This was a really good game to watch! I feel like Warren missed about 12 shots in the paint, but they just kept grabbing those offensive rebounds!

... Logan did what it needed to do as far as applying "on ball pressure" full court for the entire game - to Warren's credit they handled it well ! only 10 turnovers for the entire game ... what the perimeter pressure full court DID do was force the Warrior offense OUT on the floor - made it difficult for the BBB to penetrate from so far out - Warren doesn't have that overly quick guard who can get by defenders and breakdown the defense ... with that said Warren did a great job crashing the boards - especially late in the game Jake Bumgard did great job in the later part of the game - looked very comfortable in knocking down the 2 fgs in the paint and getting to the line - 5/5 from the FT line when the game was on the line ... I always enjoy watching a Coach Maddox coached TEAM - Coach finds "a way" ...
