This should be a great game. I think both teams match up well. I'll give the defensive edge to the Falcons and take them by 6, but I may be biased 🙂. I will say this I hope that people recognize the extraordinary job the coaching staff at FU has done. They graduated 3 really good seniors last year 2 of which combined for 2,500 points in their careers and the very next year they are right back in the district finals. I believe it just shows what a quality program Coach Eversole and his staff have created. They also have a lot coming back next year.

I will Be making the trip for this game and then sticking around to watch Jackson.
Go Trace, SVC and Ross County!

Trace by 10. I’ll take Coach K as the edge in this one.

Judging by Thursday night I am going to go with Zane Trace by 10+. Seems like a talent gap between the teams at almost every spot. Fairfield Union has a nice club, but Zane Trace looks to be on a different level. Hope I’m wrong and we see a competitive game! Take my analysis with a grain of salt as I have only seen each team play 2-3 times.

I think Zane Trace wins, but a 10 day layoff for both teams could be a factor. 42-36

I think Zane Trace wins, but I hope the overall cockiness of that program doesn’t cost them in this game. It almost cost them against Hillsboro and they’ll likely overlook FU after FU lost to Unioto earlier this year.

And maybe they shouldn’t yell at the refs as much this week, because the officials may not be from Chillicothe this time.

I need someone to face check this. I find it hard to believe that they haven’t at least played in a district final since then. My dad was a senior at Flaget that year when ZT had Maxwell and Reisinger.
Coach K never made it to a district final during his first stent in ZT? Calling in DaniC for stat book!

They have played in about four District title games since then, but lost.

The only Boys Basketball District titles in the school's history are 1969 and 1970.
The 1969 team lost to Portsmouth Clay in the Regional Finals.
The 1970 team lost to Sebring McKinley in the State Semi-Finals.
The school opened in 1966.

Both teams have really good coaching staffs and great scoring guards. I think that FU will take away one of the things that ZT does well, but I think that ZT will still win the game as long as they guard like they are capable of.

Should be a really good game.

I agree with your statement. I believe this will be a really good game and I believe it should be fun to watch. I think ZT big kids played really well the last game against Athens. If they play well and the ZT guards play well they should win the game.

Both teams are disciplined with very good coaches on the sideline. I think Zane Trace is a little more talented while the coaching advantage I would say is a toss up.

Zane Trace 51
Fairfield Union 46

How does FU look? I havent seen them this year.

One word to sum up ZT....ATHLETIC. I have seen them twice (many on here have seen them many more). Not much of a bench if i remember but 1-5 are athletic. Evans is the real deal. will get in the paint and score at will.

Long, with a really good scoring guard. A couple of nice shooters on the outside and a really solid big who can score on the inside pretty well.

They’ve faced some outstanding competition all year long, so they are battle tested, however they have had a couple of clunkers as well. So, consistency is an issue for them.
