Gonna be a dog fight. Is darby and hammond gonna be too big for ironton to handle? Or does ironton's pressure get to oak hill.

Have they already played this year?

This should be a great sectional game.

This game should be a War. There better be some very strong officials on this game because it has the potential to be a very physical game. Both teams are strong on the inside defensively so the team that can play through contact will “Survive & Advance”. I might skip Waverly’s games to watch this game!

This should be a great sectional game.
Sad that this game won’t be at the convo. That place would be rocking.

I agree, a Convo matchup between these two Teams would have been awesome, Jackson will be rocking for sure.

This is exactly the type of tournament game you want to see, and it's a shame it's only in the Sectionals.

Loud crowd, two extremely aggressive and loud coaches, two physical teams, should be fun!

Ironton has to find a way to pressure Oak Hill. Ironton has a clear advantage in terms of guard play.

On the flip side, Oak Hill has to take advantage of their size advantage. They have a clear advantage in terms of post play.

I can't see either team winning by more than 5 at the most.

Ironton plays great defense. They aren't great at scoring but they are efficient, which means they are disciplined to take the best shot. Oak hill will have the advantage inside. Hammond is the x factor. Ironton doesn't have another big to check him as Darby most likely will have Carrico on him. If Hammond has 15 plus, I think Oak Hill wins. If Ironton can hold him to getting some easy looks, Ironton will have the best chance. Officiating will play a part too. If Darby can be physical, and not foul out, that will help oak hills cause too.

This is the best matchup in either D3 sectional because either team is good enough to go to the regionals. Probably the only sectional matchup in which that claim could be made. I favor Ironton in this game, but it will be very important for the Fighting Tigers to get on top early, because I think the Oaks will be eating clock throughout the game if they get a decent lead.

CG played both this year. Neither were impressive shooting teams. OH has size advantage but against CG they didn't utilize it well as Darby was the primary ball handler. CG's defensive pressure (one if their best ganes) was too much for OH.
If Ironton has the first half lead the game will be over as OH's likely inability to handle Irontons pressure and Ethan Wilson's (Ironton PG) ability to singularly control tempo and make important late game free throws leads me to an Ironton victory 42-36.

Can see Ironton winning by 10 pts. The guards for OH will have a hard time vs Ironton's pressure. Think OH is 0-5 in last 5 meetings w/ OVC in sectionals. 0-3 vs Tigers and 0-2 vs Fairland.

An OVC team CG beat them this year and last, but I never said they couldn't beat an OVC team-just that they haven't. Just facts.
