Last night is done and over with. On to the next. Thoughts on this? NB hasn’t been to the Convo in a long time. Will the bigger stage be too much for them? I think NB is the better team, but curious to see how the Jeeps do this time against them. This time they have Blevins

Should be a more exciting match up! Anything can happen at the Convo. Such an awesome yet intimidating place to play.

Chuck Greenslate said 2000 last night several times on the broadcast.

Green was 2005.

Both have waited a long time.

Congrats to both teams on making it this far, I’m sure kids on both teams are thrilled to be able to experience this moment.

As for the game, pay no attention to the score or their regular season encounter. No Blevins for SW that game and SW is a completely different team with him.

One key thing I’m looking at is the Jeeps had 4-5 players play in 2 games at the Convo last year, while New Boston hasn’t been to the convo in nearly 2 decades. The one thing I’ve learned about the Convo over the years is to never underestimate EXPERIENCE as it will be a huge factor in this game.

New Boston has some size that will be able to bang around with Blevins but they will not be able to put up 80-90 points on a floor this big. Conley is a tough matchup for the Jeeps.

To me, personally, this has all the makings of an “upset” if you wish to call it that. I’m going with:

South Webster 61
New Boston 56

Big game with a big crowd. This one will be decided on the last possession. I think too close to pick a winner right now.

New Boston just the better team. Not much else too it. Blevins is good but not enough there to beat this talented New Boston team.

New Boston 80
South Webster 63

Blevins is the most important player to a team in the county. So to say he is really good but not good enough to beat this team is an understatement, the kid controls the glass, the offense runs through him, and he protects the rim, this team is a 180 with him.

As bbjunky stated, experience is a huge factor at the Convo. Glenwood is very talented, however, playing on that floor is such a different experience. - Court size, backdrop behind baskets, no fans near you, etc.

I will agree 100% on your quote about Blevins. He is the most important player to a team in the county.

We scored 66 the first time we played them —-that’s a lot for The Jeeps with or without anyone

Shiloah being back will help eliminate easy offensive boards as The Tigers killed us on the boards in New Boston.

Bockway is getting better every game. He is changing from a 3 point shooter who didn’t play defense to a kid who can score inside and outside—- and more importantly one who guards and rebounds with an attitude. He has impressed me in this last month. He led us in rebounding last night.

Has this team grown up enough to compete with and defeat New Boston? I hope so.

South Webster wins this one with experience and competition throughout the season. New Boston will play respectable and Webster wins by 8.
