I’m waiting and hoping just like you.

Shiloah Blevins added back to the mix will make The Jeeps a very tough out.

Cg vs Manchester or ND after the bye
The grove should take either team by 10 at least
More history by this senior class . Plays hard and plays till the end no matter who they play

ND is much improved and Manchester is dangerous if Combs can get hot. They have a decent group of skilled upperclassmen.

Losing their coaching staff early season really hurt them. The 6'4" Gould kid is also tough when he believes in himself.I think Utterback might be back to health by tourny time.

If Whiteoak gets by East, they would match up with Peebles. This would be the third meeting this year. Its always hard to win that third one. Whiteoak is on a streak and it will surely be a great game.

Gotta beat East first. Does anyone know anything about East?

They beat Manchester yesterday, but; it's hard to say if Manchester mailed it in or not. Will have to look at the SOC1 topic.

I love that Manchester group ,but; they have me scratching my head this year. Lost a ton of games they shouldn't have and won a couple they shouldn't have.

The abundance of constant change has lead to Manchester's struggles and inconsistency.

I found 15 of East games. They won over Manchester 69-66, Clay 70-67 and Notre Dame 67-49. They lost to New Boston twice at 81-74 and 75-65, lost to Eastern Pike twice at 70-40 and 69-49, lost to Symmes Valley twice at 67-58 and 67-55, lost to Green, South Webster 57-39, Notre Dame 46-44, St.Joe 69-62 and Clay 50-40. Their record is 4-13 so I have missed a couple due to the postponements and reschedules. Hope this helps!

Thanks, that’s plenty telling. Up and down like about every other D4 team. They play well and they’ll have a chance for sure.

Coal Grove was my preseason pick to reach the D4 regionals, and nothing has changed my mind on that. The Hornets did lose at Ironton just last week, but the Fighting Tigers have played a lot of close games vs. good teams. CG did hand Gallia Academy one of their 3 losses, and that was by 21 points. They also beat a good Portsmouth team twice. The one concern I have about the Hornets is their offense. They are not a great shooting team, so if they are not hitting a decent pct. of their shots, that could keep their opponent in the game. Opponents will be challenged by Jeb Jones and Sam Angelo, who are very tough to handle in the paint. They are skilled and physical. Overall, CG's ball handling is very good, led by PG Aaron Musick.

Coal Grove hasn't won a district championship since 1998. This team has the best chance since then to cut down the district title nets.

The interesting fact here is that the winners of the two Athens districts will immediately play in the regional semifinals. Who will prove the best of DIV southeast? I don't think I'm going to end up going against Howie...

Coal Grove - 57
Notre Dame - 19

Possible sectional championship game depending on the Notre Dame/Manchester matchup
