Who do you think the top candidates will be in the Ohio division?

My first guess would be Jordan Kidd of Vinton County. The only team I have not seen this year is NY. As far as overall impact to the game, Jordan is definitely a huge impact to his team.

Joey Burrows, Athens' sophomore point guard, would be a good choice for POY.

Burrow, Ibi Watson and Zacchia Saltzman have been fabulous for Athens. Saltzman has been named MVP at the two holiday "tourney" events--Marietta College and Chesapeake...Burrow coming on strong and Ibi has been steady and important all year. Lots of great bulldogs!

This is exactly why Kidd will win the POY. VC doesnt have as many weapons and Kidd means more to VC than Burrow means to Athens.

Not as many weapons!!! You are selling your kids short, and you have a lot more depth than the Bulldogs!! This TVC fan is not buying that at all.

Such a tough choice! I would have to go with Ibi Watson , outstanding player, but burrow and Kidd both definitely deserve it also. I would have loved to have seen Ryan L. In the race but his injury hurt his season alot .

Ill make it simple then....Which player impacts their team more? How many games would have VC lost without Kidd? How many would Athens lost without Burrow? Taking nothing away from VC's players but I would bet that the opening loss to Logan Elm wouldve been a "W" if Kidd was in the lineup.

make the equasion simple ... VC/Athens have really good 'teams' with different players who step up each and every night.

you want a guy who is MOST IMPORANT to his team? How about BRAYDEN JONES.

This is player of the year, not most valuable player. Kidd probably would be the MVP but I see the POY going to Athens

Why would you say that? Both teams are currently tied for 1st in the TVC, with the championship probably to be decided in VC here in a couple of weeks. IMO if VC hold serve at home and wins the TVC outright Kidd gets it no question.

That's my mistake. I was thinking Athens was leading outright

Who ever wins the league normally gets it plus coach of the year most of the time. If there is a tie then normally POY is shared between a player from the two teams. It's just how its been in the past.

1st) The Athens/VC game is Tuesday (5 days away) - not in a few weeks.

2nd) last year P.O.Y? Nigel Courts ... Wellston was (12-8)
the year before that was Jack Hart ... Alexander was (9-11)

POY means Player of the Year, doesn't matter what record your team has, doesn't matter if your a freshman or senior, doesn't matter if you are the most valuable player, if you are the best all around player in the league (as voted by the coaches) then you get the title. The coaches will get it right just as they did last year.
