It won't be long before the spring and summer AAU basketball seasons begin. We are very excited about our program as we move forward. If you are looking to put in some solid work this summer toward getting better for your school team, check our program out. We even have coaches that specialize in weight training that will do individual and team sessions. The program also does individual and team skill building sessions in an effort to work toward improving specific skill sets with each player.

We will be fielding boys teams in the following age groups:

13u - Current 7th grade
14u - Current 8th grade
15u - Current Freshmen
16u - Current Sophomores
17u - Current Juniors

There are several items that we offer in our spring/summer youth program.

1.) Strength Training --- optional offering to teams and individuals
2.) Instruction on basic fundamentals
3.) Individual Instruction --- emphasis on the areas that we see need the most work --- will also inquire with school coaches to be sure that you are getting work where they feel their players need it as well.
4.) Team Instruction --- we work on some basic offenses and really emphasize doing the little things right with proper screens, cuts, general movement without the basketball, etc. Defensively, we mainly play man to man - we want these players to be able to stop the guy across from them by getting down in a stance, moving their feet with lateral quickness, etc. We also instruct on the values of team defense with one pass away being on the line up the line and two plus passes away being in a position to help. We also stress team play and passing up good shots for great ones.
5.) Tutoring Service --- new in 2013 --- for students that may be struggling with a certain subject matter at school
6.) As a branch of Columbus Hidden Gems, our players will enjoy a decreased cost to attend the Fall and Spring Hidden Gems Showcases --- typically 100+ college coaches from all levels in attendance - EXPOSURE!!!
7.) Our 13u, 14u, and 15u will compete in more of a Ohio Youth Basketball (OYB) schedule while our older teams (16u and 17u) will compete in more of a Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) schedule in order to aid them with exposure to college programs --- At the younger levels, you want quality competition for less $$$ ... For the older players, we are willing to pay the fees to aid them in the process of college recruitment.

I am very confident in the program that we put forth for the youth. If you are a parent of a player, I would take a close look at what we are offering - If your son is serious about competing, working, and getting better, I belive it will be a good fit.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR: Players that love the game, that are hungry to get better, that have heart, that want to put in the necessary work; and players who listen, take criticism, and are coachable.

Any idea yet on costs??

We charge a flat rate that covers the cost of uniforms and tournament entry fees. That flate rate is scheduled to be $350.00 per player this season - we have kept it the same the past five years without increase even though an increase is actually needed. I have put a lot of my own money in as have my coaches. We also ask every player to get a sponsor or sponsors to help us out, and we will complete a few smaller scale fundraisers as well.
