maxpreps is a great site that would yield a fairly accurate ranking (computer based) if all teams across the state used it and submitted their scores. There are just too many missing games/scores. I personally updated 3 of Eastern Browns scores a few weeks ago. For instance, the Eastern Brown/Logan Elm game is missing. That game would have an impact on LE & EB's maxprep ranking. WCH is missing a few games on there also.

according to computers, Athens was 2nd in the region (in football) last year - Jackson was 7th ... they met in week 11 and Jackson was CLEARLY the better team.
computer rankings I guess have their place, but I'll take a man's word over a machine calculation any day of the week.

Hard not to have Oak Hill (12-2) over Valley (12-3)...when Oak Hill beat them handily.

The AP State Poll finally had Ironton ranked above Oak Hill - and they recieved (1) first place vote ... all is right in the world again.

the only way to get it right is to put em on a floor give em a basketball and let em go at it, best four of seven, other than that we have to just take what we get in these polls

Obviously I'm a homer, but I still can't base rankings on one game after the two teams are 60+% of the way into their seasons. Using both teams' full bodies of work, I don't think it's hard to have either team ranked ahead of the other...especially given the fact that Valley lost at Oak Hill (badly), but the Indians also have 4 wins over the 3 teams that have defeated the Oaks thus far counting tonight' s loss to South Webster.

Yeah....I know, the loss tonight drops them outta mine...below Valley and Minford.

But at 12-2 and handily beating the 12-3 team....no way could I. I have zero bias in this.

Court House lost but by 2 to a talented Miami Trace team....very competitive in the #7-#12 spots

Canal Winchester is a decent team. They are a D1 team and have played a tough D1/D2 Schedule so far this year. Logan Elm losing tonight is a loss to a respectable opponent by 2 points. Unless they have a great weekend they will no doubt move down my rankings.

Eastern 83 New Boston 39
The Eagles played without returning" Player of the year" Chad Lands who was sick but put 4 in double figgures . This makes 10 straight and puts the Eagles at 12-2 . They are playing outstanding deffense during this run the recommitment to "D" has turned the season around after a 2-2

This has been an awsome season so far for teams down south with a ton of competative games and some nice upsets . With the teams this season being so competative with one anouther maybe we can pull some tourney magic over the up north guys this year. Would be great to get to go watch some local teams at state in D-2,D-3,D-4. Maybe wishfull thinking but it would be nice.
