Both teams started the season with wins......Jackson beat a very good SW team....and RV won at the Eagles Nest, although the Eagles were short a few players. Looking forward to seeing my buddy Chris Wallace at this one.

GO RAIDERS!!!

I hope to see another Jackson win Tuesday. Love the way they are playing. Coach Morrow might have something figured out. The addition of Bryce Hall has helped immensely on the defensive end.

They have to make shots however because of their lack of size, but defense will keep them in games. And a if a few shots start to fall, LOOK OUT!

Playing hard can make up for a lot of mistakes.

As the saying goes, "Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't want to work hard!"

Does RV have any size, HoopsHotHead?

A little. 6'6" , 6'4", and 6'2". Have two what I call SEO "bigs"......should be a good game between two improving programs.....

RV will return Patrick Brown this week, he will be a welcome addition to our roster....looking forward to the game tomorrow...

Like I said not a lot of size but we will get after it defensively.

Hope to see a good game, I miss the old River Valley gym, with its low ceiling, elevated stands, and my goodness was it always hot in their!

Historical note, RV beat Jackson in 1993 to claim it's first Sectional title......I believe Matt Walburne?, was the Ironmen PG that year.....he was good at golf too.....and the old RV/KC gym was an advantage for the home team......and hot, not Racine hot though......lol

Jackson will play good defense and this makes the other team at times play sloppy and get out of their offensive rhythm.
If this happens and they make some shots especially a few 3's this should be another win for the Ironmen by 10 plus points.

I am sure River Valley will be ready so hoping for a good and injury free game.

RV come out 9-4.......Coach Morrow calls time out.....JHS goes on a 28-4 run.......that would be the story in this one......

Jackson is MUCH improved and deeper than expected.......RV will get better.....congrats to the IRONMEN for sweeping the entire night.....I think if they can stay as tough in the half court on d the rest of the year......they will surprise some people......

RV-24 turns(not official)(napkin stats) ---- JHS-8turns(napkin), 17-21 FT's

Free Throws were a welcome sight after the debacle against South Webster. The Ironmen play extremely hard, which makes up for lack of talent and size.

Love watching these kids play, it is a welcome sight from recent years of Jackson Basketball.

I felt RV did not use the size advantage they had over Jackson very effectively. The big kid for RV stood out at the 3-point line most of the 1st half. Start of 2nd half he began to get post touches and they cut the Jackson lead to 10. After that Coach Morrow had them ramp up the pressure and we made free throws down the stretch for a good road win.

A lot was learned by both teams, that should help out down the line!!!
