Chesapeake will be in top 3....Piketon should be in top 10. Peebles and Ironton will also receive votes.

Will Ironton and Piketon play at all this year? Sorry I haven't looked at either's schedule or the sectional pools to know if they are on a collision course or not. I think that would be a great game to see.

Ironton was schedule to play Piketon in The Beast of the Southeast Classic, but a scheduling conflict with Piketon got it cancelled.

Piketon and Ironton scrimmaged at Chillicothe this pre-season and I believe Piketon won all three or four quarters. I look for them to clash in the District at some point.

I think we all know that scrimmages don't show much. I think it would be a great matchup with ironton winning the contest if met. jmo

Yeah, we heard that two years ago! :122245 ...I know you can't base a lot on scrimmages; but it does give you an idea of where you're at. It would be a perfect match up...maybe it will happen.

Here is a list on Maxpreps updated as of January 1st. If you want to see other divisions there is a filter to change. When do the actual AP rankings come out?

It needs updated a lot of those teams has played a couple more games. For example they have Portsmouth at 4-1 and they're 5-4.

The Rankings usually comes out the second Tuesday in January. If Piketon wins Friday, I see them around #6 or #7. Ironton will be right before or right after Piketon. Chesapeake will be #2 or #3.

Who cares. Has nothing to do with tournament seeding and to be #1 you have to win it on the Floor.

Obviously you didn't see Taft when they played at the Ironton tourney. They were very impressive and I don't think they would have any problems with Oak Hill or Piketon.

Besides, everyone knows the AP Poll is a joke and always has been.

I'm told Piketon held their own against Taft in a scrimmage at Miami (which means nothing but a scimmage). I wouldnt say Polls are a joke; but they certainly don't mean a thing. (Just someone's opinion). I had to listen to this two years ago when Piketon was ranked #8 and everyone thought North Adams should've been ahead of them; as it turned out Piketon beats NA and gets to the Final 4, so maybe they should've been #3 or #4...Yes, Piketon and Oak Hill both are ranked a little higher than I expected; However both are undefeated, and the media is familiar with their names based on recent Final Four trips. I'm sure Chesapeake will climb up as the season goes, as they too made it to the Final Four last season. A part of this too is Norm Persin's reputation as a coach and Lisath taking his troops all over Ohio during the summer and pre-season getting that exposure. The old saying goes "it all comes out in the wash"...so relax and let those kids enjoy it while it last.

The Chef isn't real sure about all this banter but finds it "tasty" that SE Ohio has 8 teams ranked regardless if we agree of who should be where. The Chef would like to see even more SE Ohio teams creep onto the rankings. About time the media recognizes the world does exist down here in the sticks.

Are there any D1 schools in SE Ohio?

Truthfully (since my entire post wasn't read earlier) Piketon might have enough to stay wiht Taft and give them a pretty good game......but I still believe Taft would beat them handily....but it doesn't matter as we'll never know unless they both make it to the final 4.

I think Taft would double up Oak Hill
