Ironton is rolling...but from what I've seen thus far......it really isn't an upset....but Ironton I guess is the favorite

Haven't seen the Fighting Tigers yet, but I have seen the VERY MUCH improved Ironmen........Dylan Newsom is a strong candidate for the SEOAL player of the year and could be on the D2 all-state team. But the Ironmen don't just rely on him.......Morgan Dobbins and Andrew Christman can provide some offensive punch as well, and the 6-6 Christman is tough to keep off the boards.

Look for another close game with the Tigers pulling it out in the end.

GO TIGERS............

I am glad to see the Ironmen out to a good start. Coach Jordan has done a great job and I hope he is able to continue the good fortune.

Jackson is very well coached and as Dave said, they are very much improved. This will be a tough road game for the Fighting Tigers, as all road games are. Hoping for the Fighting tigers to squeak by and go 3-0 in league play.

... I look for I'town to "run" lots of bodies at the Ironmen tonight ... looking to force this one into a game of "team depth" - making it a 4th quarter game to see who has more "gas left" to finish ... Jackson was able to handle the same strategy when they faced AND BEAT Logan AT LOGAN ... Christman needs to have a solid game where he stays out of foul trouble and on the floor - JHS needs to keep him in their substitution rotation ... as has been pointed out Dylan Newsome IS the hardest working player I have personally seen in Southern/Southeastern Ohio this season - the young man gets everything out of his abilities/size/desire , he simply put "out hustles" and "out hearts" the opposition AND HE'S A GOLFER!!! lol add to that golfer #2 which is actually golfer #1 in the state of Ohio D2 Champion Morgan Dobbins - not sure I would bet against the Ironmen on the court OR on the fairways lol ... best of luck to both teams in this SEOAL battle for number one ...

Ironton gets the win, 67-62.

I was able to listen to most of the second half. Jackson trailed by 8 at the half, but stormed back to take a 7 point lead mid-way through the 3rd quarter. Newsom picked up his 4th foul, went to the bench, and Ironton put together a run to take the lead back. Behind some hot shooting from Morgan Dobbins, Jackson fought hard to cut into the Ironton lead late in the 4th quarter, but couldn't quite complete the comeback.

Dobbins had 22 points, 18 of those came from behind the arc as he nailed six threes (five of those coming in the 2nd half).

Didn't hear the scores of the JV and Frosh games.

I do know that Jackson won the freshman game and Ironton JVs got the win.
