Jeeps really put one together tonight, completely blew Portsmouth out. If they play even close to that in the tournament, they're gonna make a run

Jackson 49 final..
I thought the game was poorly officiated but it was officiated evenly bad.. Jackson got hosed on a key call late when loveday purely hooked the Jackson kid for the gonahead 2 points.. I could see it from other end of court..

Good luck to Jackson in postseason

I have seen moore poorly officated games in southeastern ohio than good. All the old time refs have moved on. Be a few years till all these new one's are any good if at all.

Waverly trailed Northwest 25-14 at the break. Tigers stormed out lead by Cade Marquez to score the first 17 points of the second half to take a 31-25 lead at the 3:41 mark when Leslie hit one of two FT's for the Mohawks. Waverly built a 9 point lead at 35-26 with 2:02 left in the 3rd before Northwest cut it to 35-31 at the end of three.
Waverly built the lead back up to 11 at 46-35 with 4:52 left in the game. Northwest hit 5 of 7 threes in the 4th and had it cut to 48-46 with 2:28 to play, 50-48 with 1:44 to play, and 53-51 with .31 to play. Howell made 2 big FT's for the Tigers with .18 to play to make it 55-51 and then a wide open layup on the ensuing in bounds for the 57-51 final.

It wasn't pretty at a place that has always been a difficult place for the Tigers to play but they clawed and scrapped and came away with the W.
Cade Marquez had somewhere around 15 of his game high 31 points in that all important 3rd period.

I was totally surprised by the South Webster Portsmouth score. That has to be the biggest points loss for a Portsmouth v SW in recent memory. Anyone see this game just wondering what happened for the game not to be more competitive, maybe trojandave could give some input, thank you.

What was the score from this game?
Score was 76-49. Warren led 26-10 after one quarter. Minford played a good stretch in the second quarter and early third quarter to get back within 10 at one point. Once Warren stretched lead, it just continued to grow from there. Weihl and Dennis both had huge games for the blue and white. Dennis had 28 and Weihl 23.

How did Gallia score 20 in last 4:30? Did Jackson take poor shots with the lead?
Score was 44-34 After blue devil time out they got a big basket by peck... at Jackson end.. they called a off the ball foul as a turnover Blue Devils with a quick 3 Blue Devils pressed Jackson went over top had a layup that the kid altered because of loveday... Blue Devils rebound another quick 3 by blue devils and then it is 44-42.. in like a 30 second time period..

Total domination from start to finish, 21 point lead at half, 25 point lead at end of 3rd, got to 30+ in the 4th before both teams pulled starters. South Webster's guards handled pressure and was able to attack the rim, opening up the outside shot. Jeeps were shooting well from the perimeter. South Webster had a good defensive game plan and didn't allow Portsmouth in the paint much, while also controlling the glass. South Webster has 4 very solid players and when they show up, they're a very very good team. Portsmouth didn't shoot it well, obviously, but a good chunk of that credit definitely goes to the South Webster defense.

Congratulations to the South Webster Jeeps on the win......they dominated the game virtually from the opening tip. BBjunky81 made some good points about how it happened. The Jeeps outplayed the Trojans in every aspect, and the end result was a 26 point win.

Portsmouth has won 15 games this season, and last night was just one game on the schedule. The Trojans have played some very good basketball this season, and one bad night is not going to change my mind about them. I believe they have already exceeded the expectations of many Trojan fans, including myself. I am proud of these Trojans and still think that a tournament run is very possible for them.

43 times that a Trojan team has won at least 15 games in a season......so these kids have added another significant chapter to the history of Portsmouth basketball. Senior Kendal Reynolds passed Jeff Lisath on the PHS all time scoring list and now has over 1,300 points.

GO TROJANS!!

South Webster had one of the more impressive performances of the season. Portsmouth had one of those nights - some of it bad luck, some of it was because of what South Webster was doing. If you're Portsmouth, better to get one like that out of the way now, before tournament. Also, did anyone get a score on New Boston/West Union?
