The only way Burg can win is if Ater slows it down, they need to mix in some Delay game.

I think McCorkle is the key to this game. He has the size to rebound and score down low. On film the bigs of Worthington Christian look more lanky than physically strong. He could cause problems for them downlow.

The other key, of course, is if Wheelersburg can handle the pressure of Worthington Christian. Wheelersburg is quicker than most teams they face throughout the year. They are not quicker than Worthington Christian.

Should be a fun game to watch. I will definitely be streaming this one.

Having played Worthington Christian and knowing what Burg has they should be able to handle the pressure.

Did WC hold them to zero points in the 2nd quarter? Looks like number zero has nice size for a guard. Will be a good game.

I think Burg needs to put Lawson out there with McCorkle. Would be some nice size and could help on the boards. Lawson is also a good defender and could alter some shots in the lane. Never hurts to have two 6'5" guys in at the same time.

Burg tried to dribble through a lot of the press and there was a lot of smacking at the ball going on with not a lot of calls being made. Same is going to probably happen in this game since as they say, "they let them play" in the regionals. They will need to pass the ball up the court on the press and find the open man. Someone has to always be open if you are doubling up on defense.

Looking forward to a good game!!

WC is a tall task, but if anyone can pull it off it would be the Burg. Always battle to the end.

That would be correct, zero for the 2nd quarter and 15 total points allowed in the final 3 quarters. So after halftime adjustments Prep was still only able to put up 15 points in the 2nd half. How many Prep games have people seen where they only put up 25 for the game??

We had a really good start against them, then with about 3 minutes left in the 2nd, they really turned up the heat and that’s how they got some distance on us.

They aren’t going to blow you away in a lot of ways, but they can play fast or slow and be super efficient in both styles. DJ Moore is awesome, but we held him to 6 points, it was the other guys that beat us that night. Just shows that they do have some nice depth, but man, Moore is outstanding.

If (and that’s a big if) Burg can control the tempo and severely limit turnovers, I think that they will be right there in the end. They seemed to struggle once Eastern turned up the heat in the 2nd half, so I’d look for WC to try something similar if the game is close.

I could see that in the clip someone posted. It was a 6 minute burst of trapping, attacking, pressure everywhere and to top it off with a steal and dunk. Burg def needs to control tempo and have quality possessions. Can't go multiple trips without a bucket and give up a buckets on the other end. Burg needs to do little things too. like try to score on every out of bounds under the basket (not just get it in to start the offense). score out of time outs, each possession is important, especially when a team can score in bursts like WC can.

Final Score WC wins 65- 45. Wheelersburg doesn't have enough horses ! You can take that to the bank.

Burg gave up a lot of offense rebounds in the 4th, I think that was the difference in the game
