Robertson obviously...will Futhey start? Stulley a rotation player? Wade Futhey get any rotational varsity minutes?
I can’t honestly guess at this point. Don’t know how serious the injuries are or how they get healed up by playing with said injuries.
Starters last night were Robertson, Stulley, Brown, Wheeler, Kendricks.
If everybody was healthy ready to go I would say:
Robertson, Stulley, Will Futhey, Smallwood, Brown (not considering Shanks since he is out for the season).
Tigers won’t be near as deep as they were last year.

Robertson and Shoemaker only 2 from main rotation last year? I know Futhey got in some.

Shoemaker isn’t playing.
Smallwood was in the rotation last year.

That’s what I meant.

Rough foundation game for the Tigers. Not having Futhey and Smallwood it was hard for waverly to match the size of Adena. Adena is going to be really good and challenge Zane Trace for the SVC title. Waverly will be ok once they get the rotation set and some more pieces healthy. Robertson has gotten even better and should be the best player on the floor every time they play. Always helps. May struggle early. Will be a handful late.

Is Robertson even the best player on his team? I haven’t watched him play for a while but I’ve been hearing Futhey better.

I agree with mlittle. Best player on the floor every time they play is a pretty strong statement.

Waverly always has a ton of athletes and play extremely hard. It will be interesting to see if they have the depth to play the same style as years past.

When was the last time Waverly won the SOC in basketball?

Did Waverly win the SOC during the Kretzer years? He is the last Waverly player I can remember who I would say was the best player on the floor.

I believe the last year to win SOC was 2006/2007 season. Williamson, Hilton, Conley as Seniors, Walls, Arnett, Conley, Murray, Good as Juniors.
I know I missed some players.

Wouldn't 06-07 Burg team have had Cam Miller and Drew Spradlin, thought they won the SOC that year. Could be wrong though.

If I’m not mistaken Cam Miller was a senior the same year as Aldridge, so 05-06 and I know Webster and Burg split games that season

I thought they were a year behind Aldridge. Waverly still could have won the league that year. I'm not 100% sure.

So maybe Waverly in 07-08? With Walls and maybe Roback?

Burg won the SOC in 07, 08, 10, 11, and 19. 08 was Drew Spradlin's senior season with Andy Stegman as a freshman. SW won in 06.

So maybe it was 09 for Waverly then? haha who knows. As for this year, I think it will come down to Waverly and Wheelersburg for the title. Might even see them share it depending on scheduling.

09 was the year Oak Hill went undefeated and won the state championship

Heck, I don't know. I remember coaching against Walls and Roback, but couldn't remember if they won the SOC or not. Good luck to all teams this year though. Who will be the surprise team of the SOC this year? Anyone going to upset one of the top teams?

Minford and SW will spoil a few parties this year.

I don’t have a good gauge on Webster for this season but there are 4 seniors on the floor. Hard to say with the loss of Blevins and Ruth and Voirs who they will be this year.

With Corriel back on the team that’s huge. And they have a new freshman, Jaren Lower, son of legend Justin Lower. The kid will play a lot of Varsity minutes this year

I know the lowers well. Hopefully with the success the younger kids had in soccer it will roll over to the hardwood. I could see Minford catching someone off guard a game or two. Hoping valley has a good year and competes too. Will northwest surprise anyone? They were fairly young last year weren’t they? And had success at the jr high level. Can they compete this year? Or still a year or two out to be really competitive?
