Wellston, Vinton County, Meigs, and River Valley won’t vote for Marietta
I sure as heck don’t want to be forced to travel 1:30 minutes for a conference game. And that’s just from the high school. The kids that live in the western half of VC would be pushing 2+ hours. That’s just not an ideal setup.
We have been through that before at RV. It was not a great situation or ideal. RV and Marietta both in SEOAL in early to late 90s. I did not enjoy that drive at all, and I'm sure Marietta didn't either. Plus that was from Cheshire. Now it's from Bidwell.

There is at least 5 threads about the dang TVC on all the sports categories. Hell at this point just add the TVC as a major category with all the sports.

Football
TVC
Basketball
Soccer
Baseball
Softball
Tennis
Golf
Etc., Etc.

At least it won't junk up every sport with TVC this and TVC that.

Instead of TDS meaning Trump Derangement Syndrome it should me TVC Derangement Syndrome, I mean c'mon man.

I totally agree that alaxander should win it but coach combs and staff will be in the mix and when it gets past the players and to the coaching Alex will loose. Alex has the talent vinton has the coach

While I agree Combs is one of the very best around and just a truly great coach....I’ve never noticed Alexander’s coach being a bad coach. He never gets anything good said it seems. I’ve only seen him in about 5 games but I’ve not noticed anything of what so many seem to say.

Surprised to hear this after the sweep last year by a total of 32 points combined in just two games. Sure Combs is great but a coach has to have players. Coaches don't play. I see Alexander winning unequivocally all the way around.

Does anyone have good info on NY. I see many votes for them on the poll. What is making them such a strong choice?

We are not contenders for the league crown this year.
Coach Gabriel will get the program turned around but it's gonna take 3 years. We have a lot of young talented kids who are gonna make a big difference but they still have to learn and grow as basketball players.

He started for them in their loss vs Huntington.

I think he will do well. He turned the ball over a little to much in the scrimmages I watched. I do think he will have a pretty solid year though.

This was roughly what I thought. Caught them at Zane Trace against Huntington (a game they could’ve won), and as a unit they looked the part of a “green” team on the hardwood for the pace and level of competition that entails quality varsity basketball. They were really well-coached in-game, as their coach gave great directions and also made an emphasis on the “teaching moments” to be had 1-on-1 with a kid during free throws and when a kid is taken off. The two main things I think they’ll improve upon as the year goes on (and they’ll have to) is better D inside and withstanding hard on-ball defense. The Seel kid is talented. Saw that they had a comfortable win against Southern tonight, and I would expect them to possibly go .500 with gradual improvement throughout the year and positive responses to good coaching.

Prettyspot on assessment.
I'd ad to watch the Gail kid. He has the ability to take over games. He showed some flashes against Southern of doing it. He is a jr and by game 10 this year I think he will be hard to stop.

Alexander will travel to South Eastern this Friday, Wellston on Tuesday, and then host their rivals Athens at home on Friday the 13th. Should be easy first two wins then should be a great game with Alexander and Athens on Friday.
