I think Athens deserves at least a 3 seed. Anything else would be icing on the Cake!
I would agree with that!!!

I'm also waiting for our annual discussion about how terrible the Southeast District is about doing this, and how it's time for the district to leave the 1950s and go to an open draw for each division, using all the sectional sites to put the games closest to the teams involved.
Are you saying after the open draw, then the sites are determined? If so, I disagree. Haves the sites shown for each game on the bracket before any spots are chosen, so the teams know what site, date, and time they are choosing.

With 1st 2 games at the lower seed - DEAL!! That is the way the rest of the state has gone....crowds are better at the higher seed anyway. And seeds mean VERY little when you go to an open district - teams will go where they should be!

1 Sheridan 15-3
2 Athens 14-4
3 Fairfield Union 12-7
4 Warren 11-6
5 Logan Elm 10-8
6 Vinton County 8-8
7 Circleville 6-12
8 Westfall 6-13
9 Marietta 5-12
10 New Lexington 5-12

Sheridan 15-3
Warren 11-6
Athens 14-4
Fairfield Union 12-7
Logan Elm 10-8

Warren plays a better schedule than Athens and beat them by 16 points.
In my opinion, FU could be in front of Athens.

So you really believe a 14-4 team doesn’t deserve to be a better seed than a 12-7 team? For whatever reason people just hate on Athens.

Technically Raider....Warren has a better win percentage over FU if you would like to do an edit!!

no way Athens gets a 2 seed, with one of their losses coming from VC who just lost to Miami Trace. it would be a miracle to get a 2 seed

Tough schedule or not, that is a few losses away from being a .500 team. I'm sorry, I applaud the team for playing some tough opponents - but at what level is a team truly rewarded for that? A 22-10 Kentucky team never earns a higher seed than a 28-4 Gonzaga squad. LSU played a brutal schedule in football - did they get in the final 4? You lose games in the NFL, NBA, MLB you don't make the post season. Those are just a few examples.

The Falcons lost to UNIOTO, BLOOM-CARROLL, HAMILTON TOWNSHIP X2, ST. CHARLES, LOGAN ELM, TEAYS VALLEY

Bloom-Carroll (5-12)
Unioto (9-10)
Hamilton Township (10-8)
St. Charles (11-8)
Logan Elm (11-8)
Teays Valley (12-9)

But just last year in the NCAA tourney same regional...UNC the #2 seed with a 25-10 record and Gonzaga the #4 seed with a 30-4 record....so smart people know SOS matters...Lol

It's a great point, WWBBB. And factual.

Of course UNC had momentum going into the draw and was buoyed by a run to the ACC championship, which included a win over Duke.
F.U. on the other hand is coming off losses to Logan Elm, Teays Valley and Hamilton Township in the last two weeks.

You are correct....thats why I had put Athens as a 3 over FU but not over a 6 loss Warren even though Warren could perhaps be on a 2-5 game losing streak come sectional time...their last 3 games are absolutely brutal!!!

BTW i actually made the game Athens @ Warren and was impressed by Athens, they should go far in tourney as long as the PG can stay on the floor.

Athens will not be the No. 2.
Perhaps if it was a real close game with Warren, on the road, maybe they would have had a slim chance at the 2.
But a 16 point loss sticks out like a sore thumb.

Be very interesting if (3) Athens vs (6) VC and (4) Fairfield Union vs (5) LE actually comes to fruition ... You'd have the two biggest games in Logan being 3rd time match-ups for each. If I am not mistaken, everyone is (1-1) against each other as well.

... I know the online seeding has been happening for a couple of years in the SE District - I'm not a fan ... this is coming from a guy - me - who would much rather drive 20 miles to meet with a person "in-person" than to call them on a cellphone ... presenting/defending/backing up/standing IN FRONT of your seeding votes as they used to do on Sunday afternoons in Jackson THAT is how it should be done ... this "hide behind your computer seeding" is so social media like - again NOT a fan ... it will be interesting to see how - if at all - teams take into account the strength of schedule ... Overall records I'm sure will be the "winner" of the day ... no matter how the seeding turns out - the one & done season is ALWAYS outstanding ! ...

I’m calling it. FU will be ranked above Warren too. FU has much better wins and schedule

Someone explain to me this voting process please. So do you coaches vote on who they think each seed should be and all the votes are tallied and those with most votes for that seed get that seed?
