So tonight....Peebles big win by 18 @ Eastern Brown

Manchester lost in OT to North Adams

Notre Dame by 4 over Ironton St Joe

South Webster 62 and New Boston 47

What else from this sectional tonight?

My seeding:

1. Clay
2. Peebles
3. Eastern
4. Fairfield
5. South Webster
6. East
7. Western
8. ND
9. Manchester
10. NB
11. Whiteoak

My prediction on how it will be voted:

1. Clay
2. Eastern
3. Peebles
4. Fairfield
5. South Webster
6. Western
7. East
8. Notre Dame

Things that will surprise me:

South Webster vs anyone other than Peebles, Fairfield, Western, Eastern

Exactly 1 SOC 1 team in the 4/5 slot

Who #8 is

Fewer than 3 of these teams in the district finals. Great sectional....8 very good teams and Manchester is no slouch for sure, probably 3rd/4th best team in other sectional.

Western won tonight against Whiteoak. Not sure of the score. They struggled to shoot it. Whiteoak is a tough place to play. Good to come away with a win

I'm not saying they are great or tough or anything in that sense. Just stating Western didn't play well in spurts so that kept the game close and to me from what I have heard it has been a tough place to play. Manchester played them on Saturday and was a close game the whole way. As well as Lynchburg when they played at Whiteoak. I believe Whiteoak had it all the way to 6 before fouls and other scoring late in the fourth to lose by 16. I believe Western won by 9 tonight. Either way it's a win.

How is ND # 8 when they have beat East @ East and Western x2, but you have Western and East ahead of them? To me if anything, they will be 5-7, do not see them dropping to 8.

Someone has to be the #8

I get the same reaction from someone else if I put SW, Western or East at #8

5-8 are the least clear cut ever

What's Friday's lineup? There are 4 teams that could be 5-8 and 3 teams that could be 2-4

If coaches don't take 3 minutes after Friday's game to resubmit all other coaches should pile on them next year.

See, that's a huge game. If Western wins and then gets placed in the 8 seed by coaches....those coaches didn't do their homework or didn't edit their picks after the game.

I personally do not think Western is an 8 seed.

Definitely don't either...just saying.

There are several other teams in that top 8 I'd rather face in the tournament....

Ironman is exactly right, 5-8 is going to be the hardest to determine in the history of this sectional. It could literally go anyway. I truly hope the coaches pay close attention to the results Friday night before submitting their seeds. Clay vs Western, Eastern vs. ND, lots of games to help determine seeding a bit.

My prediction as of today

1.) Clay
2.) Peebles
3.) Eastern
4.) Western
5.) South Webster
6.) East
7.) Fairfield Leesburg
8.) Notre Dame
9.) Manchester
10.) New Boston
11.) Whiteoak

Fairfield Leesburg is not a 7 and still confused on why you have Western & East over ND, when ND beat Western twice and East once. I can see SW over ND due to them winning head to head. You say ND had a bad loss to SV, but East had a bad loss to St. Joe and ND ha beat St. Joe x2.

I think the biggest thing we take for granted is that the coaches are going to look at the big picture, not just one particular game. What I mean is, so many people say "Well ND beat Western twice you can't put Western over ND!" or "Western beat Eastern twice how can Eastern be over Western"

End of the day, coaches are going to look at the big picture. They're going to look at all results and then determine who they think is the best teams and the best matchups for themselves.

ND lost to Symmes Valley, you could go on and on about who lost to who and who beat who and by how much, at the end of the day, I say it goes by the eye test. Who is playing better basketball RIGHT NOW? This friday will tell a lot.

This is worded very well and what I was trying to say. Notre Dame also trailed for 3 quarters against St. Joe last night and had to come back to win. They're not playing the best ball right now, and if we're aware of it, I'm sure the coaches are too.

And, on top of that, would ND really be opposed to the 8 seed? They've played right with Clay and lost at the end both games. That's not a bad matchup for them, and if they beat Clay they have a phenomenal path to a district championship game. I think they matchup better with Clay than they do Eastern or Peebles.
