This is how I would seed them.

1 Zane Trace 14-4
2 Jackson 13-5
3 Washington 11-6
4 Greenfield 11-7
5 Waverly 11-6
6 Gallipolis 10-7
7 Unioto 9-9
8 Hillsboro
9 River Valley
10 Miami Trace

Probably how it will be. Maybe only switch Waverly and McClain. The Tigers appear to be struggling down the stretch.

If Waverly beats Jackson on Tuesday then no doubt.

I simply ask who has Waverly beaten?

The answer: Athens and then ....

McClain has wins over the 1 seed and the 2 seed. And Adena on the road.

Unioto has 2 wins better than Waverly or Gallipolis best win.

Very good point. It’s splitting hairs between the 4 and 5 anyways, but you’ve swayed me unless Waverly can beat Jackson.

And then we both laugh because it’s an argument over which Tiger wears white.

Looks about right.
What if Waverly beats Jackson, do they jump to the 3 or just jump McClain to the 4?
WCH struggled with VC and was a last second made basket waived off away from going to OT.

4 of Waverly’s 6 losses to the Elite 8,
3 of those losses to the top 2 teams (Wheelerburg & Chillicothe).

In addition to the Athens win the Tigers have a road win at 14-4 Oak Hill (who gave top 8 Eastern their only loss).

Winning at VC is not a negative.

WCH beat Waverly

Waverly is 11-6. Let’s say they beat Jackson.... and WCH Beats Unioto. Then they are both 12-6.

Would you put Waverly over WCH?

If Fairland beats Gallia and Unioto beats courthouse it could happen

With that scenario Jackson would also be 12-6 and Waverly would have the win over them. I wasn't saying Waverly would jump WCH.
ZT, WCH, Waverly, Jackson, Greenfield
I know that's a long shot with Waverly being the only SOC team but............................

I know Jackson has wins over WCH (2x) and Greenfield. Who have they lost to?

Waverly with I'd say similar losses
Wheelersburg 2X
@Chillicothe
@WCH
1 loss Eastern
South Webster in OT

I know its an uphill battle for Waverly to move up even with the win but they HAVE TO WIN..

After Tuesday Jackson will have played AT every other team’s place in this sectional other than Gallia and Unioto....we played Unioto at Jackson.

I don’t understand the value of losses. Or good losses. I don’t think coaches look at who teams lost to but rather who they have beaten. How valuable are your wins?

I don’t think you get seeded by pointing out who beat you

I do think there is more value attached to — can you beat a good team when you play them? Especially if there’s a bunch of teams with the same amount of losses.

Look at it this way — Waverly is playing Jackson Tuesday and you are asking us what would happen if Waverly defeats Jackson.... what has this season shown you to this point ? What is the result when Waverly plays a good team? If you point out that Waverly loses vs these teams it’s not helpful to your argument that Waverly should beat Jackson. Losses and who beat you are not what impresses the room. Wins and can you beat people is what moves the needle. Do you scare people?

The only reason to move to this side is because your wins don’t stack up.

My humble opinion.

Waverly CAN beat Jackson. Absolutely. Especially at Waverly on a Tuesday night. But the results thus far would say that Jackson is the better team. Heck in the last few weeks Jackson went to Burg and took them to OT. And Friday night we all saw Burg go into Waverly and win the game by halftime. That game was never in question.

Ok, so if who you lost to has no bearing and maybe it doesn’t, and Waverly beats Jackson, both being 12-6, Waverly should be seeded higher due to the head to head.

And WCH should be both above Waverly and below Jackson. So we would have to find a way to break that tie...maybe we could look at strength of schedule!!

If they were the only 2 teams involved then yes.
