NW doesn't have the enrollment size they use to they are not bigger than all you mentioned and not much bigger than the others
Exactly. People keeps thinking Northwest is alot bigger than all these schools but their not.
Did some very quick research on the OHSAA website for school enrollments used for the 2022-23 and 2023-23 school years. Here are what they showed with the first number being boys enrollment and second number being girls enrollment.

Waverly 240 - 208
Wheelersburg 176 - 157
Minford 167 - 147
West 160 - 162
Valley 122 - 109
South Webster 86 - 113

Northwest 160 - 156
Oak Hill 147 - 137
Eastern 109 - 87
Symmes Valley 94 - 89
Western 93 - 82
South Gallia 75 - 81

So based on some pretty easy research….. YES Northwest is tied as being the FOURTH largest school overall In enrollment numbers in the SOC in boys. In girls they are FOURTH overall as well, but only one girl away from being the THIRD largest SOC school in enrollment. So some of the information that people have been fed about Northwest’s enrollment being down and much lower than other schools is not accurate.

In their middle division in the SOC Northwest has 13 more boys than Oak Hill, 51 more boys than Eastern, 66 more boys than Symmes Valley, 67 more boys than Western, and 85 more boys than South Gallia.

In girls Northwest has 19 more girls than Oak Hill, 67 more girls than Symmes Valley, 69 more girls than Eastern, 74 more girls than Western, and 75 more girls than South Gallia.

With all that being said, at the top in the middle SOC boys division it’s going to be a three way battle between Northwest, Western, and Eastern.

Top SOC it’s all Minford, and lower SOC Notre Dame
I I've done the research and know the numbers. I do agree they shouldn't be in the middle SOC, especially this year, as they shouldn't have been in the SOC I in football.

It’s kind of ridiculous having Northwest in the middle division. They have much larger enrollments than Valley and South Webster and quite possibly Burg and West as well. Come on man ….. playing schools like they will be playing in their division !!! Should be a cake walk to the championship.

I heard that. I also heard the jeeps will be deeper than they have been and Coach P doesn’t care if he plays one of the more gifted players in the area until his effort improves?

Swank* 😎

Idk if Norm has the fire he used to have but wouldn’t surprise me. Webster proved last year they can and will win without him. We’ll see. Don’t know the status on Brock Campbell (kid with the boot) but if he can play any this year that’s another good piece

My bad Swank

I haven’t laid eyes on them yet, but they seem very talented. What’s the demarcation line for this team come march, regional finals?

SW athletics have been on a tear the last year and I expect the Basketball team to add another district championship to the case. Depending on Fed Hock/ND/EP you could very well see the Jeeps in the Regional finals.

Jan 13 South Webster @ Fed Hock
Feb 13 Notre Dame @ SW
