His name is Jake Burke. His game is probably a little limited (doesn’t strike me as a kid who can start for Logan or go >24 minutes on the floor unless his defense improves) but what he can do is play inside-out; can shoot and has good mid-range. Good athlete, good kid.

See my note I wrote in an edit after you responded. One thing I will add is he has a decent amount of varsity minutes against not-terrible competition. With him he kind of got thrust into an ‘Everyman’ role across the 2, 3, 4, 5 spots and most of the offense would have to get facilitated through him when our hammer inside would get into foul trouble. Logan gets a player with generally good ball smarts and good experience, that developed as much as he could despite most of his experience being in various roles and expectations that probably wouldn’t have been asked of him if he went to Logan (bigger program) for four years.

Given Logan's mass openings on the starting 5 I would guess he would get a decent shot at PT.

This season will be one of, if not the last season, that Logan will be in the Pfloyd Elite 8 rankings as the Chiefs will be moving to the OCC with an OCC league schedule to fulfill ... I believe Logan still has 9 games that they play THIS campaign vs teams Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line :

@ Alexander
@ Warren
@ New Lexington
vs Fairfield Union
vs Sheridan
@ Unioto
vs Logan Elm
vs Warren
@ Athens

... some excellent matchups with all but Athens being ranked in the pre-season top 20 in Southern/SouthEast Ohio ...

Winter of 24-25 is OCC basketball schedule for Logan.

Thanks for checking in, pfloyd!

... glad the Chiefs will continue with some of those SEO matchups for at least 2 seasons anyway ... AND IT IS POSSIBLE that they are able to keep an 8-9 game Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line schedule AFTER joining the OCC in 24-25 ... hate to see these matchups go away ...

Logan will have 14 OCC games so only 8 non-league matchups possible.

Base on football scheduling - I would guess traditional SEO games with Athens, Warren, Chillicothe, etc. will stay in the non-league portion. But who knows.

Just my two cents but for competition purposes and with a former head basketball coach as the AD and past basketball schedules; I would say:
Warren (obvious reasons)
Fairfield Union (Always a good annual game)
Sheridan (another annual game)
Unioto (Past Season opener and annual game now)
Logan Elm (if they will continue, seems hit or miss alot)
Bloom Carroll (Annual game now always a challenge)
St Charles (Has been a solid game going back to the late 80's)
Watkins Memorial (Good competition)

I'd really like to keep Athens on the schedule.

Otherwise the rest of those are also good matchups.

I could see them keeping Athens and losing St Charles for travel reasons.

Was at the Logan VC scrimmage on Saturday as my son was an official for the JV and 9th grade. Was told the Logan Varsity looked competitive and Vinton County shot lights out. Logan moved up a freshman for the day and had some other players up as they need to find a PG soon.

If you’re attending the Marietta scrimmage tonight provide some info if you get a chance. I didn’t think Vinton County would be quite as strong as last year but maybe do?

The word I am hearing and would like to see them in preseason but may not get a chance with my own officiating and work schedule; BUT, they are very big up front. Good size. VC coach told me they had tons of size but need to find a legit PG. They have some younger kids up as well looking to find a good mix. Sounds like some kids will need to grow up fast with their schedule. Looking forward to the ZT Tip off next week vs Bexley.
