We use to go to the canton regionals, it sure a heck of a lot closer for us less than an hour drive, and the canton fieldhouse was a great place to watch games and not bad seat in the house, for some reason they keep changing regionals on the east District,I think this is now fifth year now to go to the Athens regionals, the guys really like playing at O.U.to

What relation, if any, is he to the girls coach?

That’s an amazing run! I really enjoy watching the Hawks play

If he has "5 regional championships" how can he only have 1 state runner up and 2 state championships?

That would be because there is a state semi-final. Therefore, you can make state and not be the state runner up or state champion.

Thank you, I knew that. And to get there 5 times is a great accomplishment. But was just saying with his winning percentage I'd have thought he'd have won it a time or two more. :D

They are brothers. Dave (girls coach) is older. Mark also has 2 state final 4 appearances at his previous coaching stop at Loudonville. Both brothers are Hiland alumni.

Howie is hoping to get some payback on them this year after they got lucky last season. But first he wants to beat every team in the Hocking and really beat the brakes off of the teams that have people asking "where will Howie be coaching this/next year." That's what I remember from a recent conversation.
