But its ALWAYS something more important every year. Getting ready for baseball is more important. Lifting for a football scholarship is more important, going to watch a bowl game is more important, going down south to visit family over break is more important, etc ... etc ...

Athens basketball takes a back seat to everything. Its unfortunate.
It shouldnt matter. With their numeric adavantage, they should win the league with their JV team.

That crew has always been bad both ways.
To restate an earlier post, you really do need to get certified. You are already certifiable.

Athens, VC & River Valley are all D2 this year.
Athens, VC, Meigs were all D2 before that.

Numbers are far less important in hoops anyway. You only need 5 good players. Go play Harvest Prep, who only has about 80 boys & see how that works for you. Or better yet, go play a SE district, non private school, like Peebles or New Boston.

I have been around basketball longer then any of them refs FYI I know when a ref misses a call or makes a bad call. My problem is when a ref make a call out of position

They lost to a middling D4 with 57 boys in the school earlier this year, so I’m sure a game vs HP would go great.

It’s still not a foul until the referee blows his whistle and raises his fist. And that’s regardless of what you know.

I was driving 72mph in a 60, passed a patrolman and he didn’t get me....but I was 100% speeding.

Not if he didn’t get you for it. Until those lights come on it’s perfectly legal. Once they come on though, your billfold opens up.

It’s not an opinion I was speeding...I was speeding.

If I steal a tv from Walmart but don’t get caught...I was still stealing.

If I cheat on a test and don’t get caught...I was still cheating.

And 30 other examples. Sometimes referees miss fouls. They are human.

So, be a good citizen and turn yourself in everytime you go over the speed limit. All things are a matter of time and circumstance, and drive as fast as you’d like, it’s not a ticket until you get one called.

I’d pay a $100 bucks to watch you officiate real games for an entire season. I’d bet another $100 that you were a worse official than you were a player back at Jackson.

Your personal insults don’t hurt at all. Find 1 person on here that compliments officials in their posts more than I have and I’ll give you $100.

hawkeyepierce would compliment one of my calls with a 15 letter word and I wouldn’t understand what it meant and would erroneously toss him

Not quite, not an official, but my father was, and I have a couple of friends who are. I respect them, and I see way too many people who are just idiots and who get on here and blame them for everything. It gets old. My job never allowed me to join my father on the field, and I regret that I let life get in the way of something like that, kind of like a Jim Croce song.

The last page plus has nothing to do with the Athens/Meigs game, you guys can start a topic on Refs and I'll close this one.
