I believe (and could be wrong) the money is from an energy improvement grant. ??????????????????????
The gym also got a new roof, doors, etc. etc. with that money.

Backboards will have lights around them that will light up at the buzzer. A scoreboard will be installed in the lobby and clocks in the lockerooms to let coaches know how much time is left pre game, halftime, etc.
Mr. Murray, question please sir. Does the gym at the new school complex on Rt. 220 get any use? What I saw of it when the school opened it looked like a serviceable facility, though not on the level of Hawhee's Palace.
Yes, the girls practice and play at the school gym. It is really nice they don't have to share a gym and have their own.
Thanks for sharing the info!

Rigsby is 2nd cousin to the Justice boys of Peebles. Pretty good player himself ...his grandpa and his twin were big players back in their day. Herman and Thurman Rigsby.

Waverly did better than expected last saturday at Fairland. Only won 1 quarter by 10+ point. lost 1 by 10+ and the others were close. Pretty good indication

I watched my Portsmouth Trojans split with the Tigers last Saturday...........and I came away with the feeling that Waverly can challenge Wheelersburg for the SOC title. The Tigers have some decent size, some good guard play, and have the capability to beat teams down the court. It looks like WHS will have some decent depth off the bench also. I don't see any reason why the Tigers can't put together at least a 15 win season.

I always like it when the heights come out for new season. Makes we feel a little taller. I can tell people I am 6'5". Amazing how kids shrink when basketball season is over. Lol. Just kidding around. I think Waverly will surprise some people this year. More scoring than they have had since Kretzer. And you don't have to be tall to put the ball in the basket.

Waverly looked good last night. They need to watch the fouls a little bit because that could come back to bite them against the better teams. They did do better in the second half as far as fouls go though.

I am probably as excited as I have been in a while about this Tiger team. Love the up and down the court and aggressive defense. Go Tigers!!

Tigers with a big come back win over Jackson tonight, 52-50. Senior Cade Marques with a huge 3 to tie it at 50 and then an even bigger steal at mid court and layup to win it.
