Burg was pressing a little bit too much early trying to make some things happen, understandable with emotions being high for the game. Once Coach Massie got the boys settled down (tempo), the Pirates were just too much for the Siders. West was playing a little short handed for the game. Another nice win for the Pirates. I am sure Coach Barrick will be proud of the effort when he gets to see the film.

Very accurate description, as always, Mike. The boys responded very well to Coach Massie and his instruction and played 4 good quarters. Time to move on to Valey on Friday night.

My prayers are with Coach Barrick and his Family. I am pulling for the Burg in the playoffs. You have strong tradition in all sports and this year is no exception. Play one game at a time and with your players, the rest will take care of itself.

Thanks guys. We have been accused of having a soft schedule this year, but the schedule is made up a long time in advance. With the cost associated with travel and such it is hard to have a perfect schedule year in and year out. We have been very blessed to have good coachs and players in the last several years. This team is very special to me, as are every school district also have. I have watched all levels of competiton, you just do not get the playing for just the fun of playing as you do in the High School years. I was lucky enough to have a son that played after High School, and one of his biggest supportors, and a very big reason he had the chance to play, was from the reveiws he received from your Burg Coach. So, I will always have the utmost respect, and soft spot for any of your teams or programs. Again Good luck to my Burg Friends and players.

Wheelersburg played Vinton County in Mike Lovenguth's years.
I thought the guys settled down well--a tribute to a solid coaching staff and an experienced squad. But early on they were trying too hard if that could be the case. I don't mind extra effort in the least.
West is just hampered by a such a shallow bench but I liked their changes from the first game to this one. That team is going to do just fine.

He would be someone you would want giving a review because he definetly knows his stuff.
yabba, we just scrimmaged you in football. We played you in basketball. You had a great team then too. It was your football Coach who talked to the College Coach about my son. If memeory serves me right I think the Coach's Last name was Miller. My son played with his boy Matt at OU in Athens. I have several friends from your area that say Barrick is a first class coach in his own right. Thanks Viking
