Baer a great scorer and Cleland just a really good/strong athlete. 6 straight wins Nelsonville, Wellston, River Valley, Eastern Meigs, Athens without Butcher and Moore? And Alexander without Kearns....I’m not sure they beat a team that is better than any of the top 10 or 12 seeds in D3. With that said I do agree they will be a tough out as tourney refs often allow a quite physical game and we saw what trouble they caused Burg last year. Not much depth. Would’ve been tough with Bartrum.

Had a 26 point lead at Athens with Butcher showing that they do
Have the fire power to play very well when they put it all together. But alas it’s about finishing not a great start. Playing really well at the moment

They have other guys too, including a 6'5 big man and a couple strong power forwards. They are a tough match-up. It's all going to depend where they are seeded. Given the right match-up, they could very easilly pull off an upset.

I’ve seen them. Strong team, not mainly basketball players though. Better suited for tourney and could win a game or two if right matchup

Without Butcher and point guard Stephens. Moore plays JV and dresses Varsity.

I think the 10 seed who gets matched up with Alexander will be a big winner, at least with a good possibility to get to the Convo with the Spartans scuffling right now

I think whatever higher seeds get Piketon, Portsmouth, and Meigs could end up being big losers in the matchups. Really tough outs, especially for seeds like 3-5 to get to the Convo.

Nearly all of the sectional finals should be pretty decent matchups.

My final prediction:

1. Fairland
2. Zane Trace
3. Eastern Brown
4. Peake
5. Burg
6. Oak Hill
7. Alexander
8. Adena
9. North Adams
10. Ironton
11. South Point
12. Meigs
13. Minford
14. Belpre
15. Piketon
16. Portsmouth

Assuming all high seeds win the sectional semis you then have these matchups:

Fairland vs Portsmouth
Zane Trace vs Piketon
Eastern Brown vs Belpre
Chesapeake vs Minford
Wheelersburg vs Meigs
Oak Hill vs South Point
Alexander vs Ironton
Adena vs North Adams

Tons of great games.

In light of recent circumstances and how the teams are playing, not sure you can have Alex 5 spots ahead of Meigs.

I get those sheets say “quality losses” but it should be noted on the sheets that Fairland is the only team of these four that have lost to a team with a losing record. 55-47 @ Gallia

Of all the teams that I Hope don’t get seeded solely for their record —- it’s Belpre. They’ve had a couple bad losses and close games against some really bad teams. Two wins against each of Eastern Meigs, Southern, Wahama etc does give them a winning record but those numbers are inflated compared to what many of the other D3 teams have faced.

Portsmouth and Piketon have losing records but I’d take both over Belpre by double digits as both play a much better schedule. If Belpre somehow ends up in the 12 or 13 spot it wouldn’t shock me to see them lose in the sectional semifinal.
