Div III Sectional Predictions

Post by BALLER1 »

What seed do you think each team will get?

Div III- Waverly- Adena, Eastern, Huntington, Lynchburg, Minford, North Adams, Peebles, Piketon, Portsmouth, West, Southeastern, Valley, West Union, Westfall, and Zanes Trace

Div III- Jackson- Alexander, Belpre, Chesapeake, Crooksville, Dawson Bryant, Fairland, Federal Hocking, Ironton, Nelsonville, River Valley, Rock Hill, South Point, Wellson, and Wheelersburg

The Portsmouth Trojans are 8-7 with a game @Warren Friday. 6 of the Trojans wins have come vs. D2 teams, 1 vs. D3, and 1 vs. D4. PHS won @Minford the first game of the season in OT, 79-72.

Hopefully the Trojans will get no lower than a 7 seed even if they go into the draw at 8-8. But they are a newcomer to this sectional, so it makes speculating as to what will happen even more difficult.

At the Jackson sectional I look for these three to be the top 3 seeds.

South Point #1
Wheelersburg #2
Chesapeake #3

baller,

kick Waverly out of your DIII. They are D2 in the Southeastern Sectional.

Meanwhile, this could be an interesting sectional/district. The Burg is Red Hot, but Hungtinton and the others can play. I would not count out either Ironton or Portsmouth.

GO CAVS!!!

D3 Waverly

1.Huntington.....no doubt
2.North Adams...just lost to Whiteoak for 2nd loss
3.Piketon....I'll guess they get the call over 11-4 Lynchburg
4.Lynchburg
5.Adena

Beware the Trojans

Waverly sectional could be a toss up. Huntington barely beat Lynchburg so I can see them getting the 3 seed. Between Huntington and North Adams for the 1, it can come down to who does the most talking before the draw.

Eagle, didn't Chesapeake beat Fairland? So how can you seed them lower than them?

I would think you can't just go on pure records alone. The NCAA Selection Comm even gives teams credit for playing well come tounament time. Playing well in late in a season has to be a plus. What's your thoughts?

These two square off again tonight (1/25) don't they? Could be a big win for either team.

Fairland plays Chesapeake tonight in the St. Joe tourny. I say if the dragons win then they might get the third seed but to me 3 or 4 not much difference.
