gotigers, can you believe I have had two people back out on this trip Saturday. My wife is going with me to the ribber and I asked one friend to go along to eat and on to the game. The wife was going to head home with the younguns. He backed out, I asked another guy and now I get an email from him this morning saying he cant go. How can anyone pass up on a trip to the ribber? lol

I probably will have a doggy bag with me, can I bring those into the gym!

At this point, I think there will probably not be a freshman game because of the tourney Ironton is in at Coal Grove....However, the JV game is at 6pm, and the Varsity game is at 7:30pm..If that freshman game changes, I'll update that info later tonight.

No matter the crowd, no matter the record, I expect this to be a good game...I expect a physical and athletic game...I think Piketon has gotten a lot better since the opening game against Greenfield McClain..But the reason this game was scheduled (week for that matter)...was to see where they are as a team and see what we have to fix for tourney time. We welcome the opportunity to play at Ironton, and it is great to view the trophy case and banners for all the success they've had in the past...Who knows, you can probably find a picture of Coach Kelley in the trophy case! (a skinnier version, of course) :)

RSF - Agree that this is a good game to play for both teams. Having lost 4 starters from last year, this Tiger team has yet to put it all together by any estimation. Sounds like you guys have been improving, so there is no clear favorite in this one IMO. We will both know more about our respective squads come Sunday morning. Safe travel to you and the rest of the Piketon team and fans.

Thanks, we pray for safe travel for everyone...and hopefully we'll see good basketball!

There is NO freshman game...only JV and Varsity....JV game starts at 6pm and Varsity at 7:30pm....

Sorry - my R shoulder is still aching some and I fell asleep.
Ironton in trouble right now - I'll pick it up from here rather than starting a new thread.

If the freshman team played two games today the OHSAA may have something to say about it.

That allows me to sleep better tonight, lol
I knew that the Ironton AD wouldn't allow that to happen.
Funny thing is OHSAA allows only one game a day yet some of our Peewee teams play up to 4.lol

For jottings: IRONTON VS PIKETON JV SCORE - Ironton 58 - Piketon 31

And for REDSTREAKFAN, you are the only person who can edit the final score into your original subject line. Do it! You should be proud of it!
We Ironton fans congratulate you on a well-played game tonight.
Although I deeply regret the outcome, I take nothing away from your team's abilities and effort - you got the job done. CONGRATS

Piketon beat Ironton 76-66

Post by REDSTREAKFAN »

Thanks, Caglewis...Great game tonight by the Redstreaks against a very scrappy Ironton team. Great atmosphere, and a hard place to get a W! Tonight was Piketon's night, and I'm proud of them!

Coach Lafon does a nice job with those kids, too...they could've packed it up, but they kept battling. Piketon had a nice crowd down for the game tonight, too...

Just proud of the streaks bouncing back from last night's game, and bringing the "A" game today!!! keep it up...a tougher week awaits us!!!
