Southeastern Ohio Scores Thread

Post by tigercat1 »

I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we could post scores from games, so I've started it. I need help from the rest of you to keep it going.

Post away!

I started another thread about Justice and the Peebles game, but I'll give you some details here. Peebles came out smokin' as they went up by 16 points early in the second quarter. Eastern cut it to around 10 at the half. Eastern kept hanging around and got it down to a 1 point deficit with around 4:00 left in the game. Eastern then took a two point lead very late in the game. Peebles had three starters foul out and also one player off the bench fouled out. Peebles missed two free throws to try and tie it up with 12 seconds or so left and Peebles quickly fouled. The player from Eastern made the second free throw to make it a three point lead for Eastern.

After a time-out Peebles came down the court and got the ball in freshman Blake Justice's hands with three seconds or so left. He had to get off a fade-away three with two defenders on him and hit nothing but net to tie it up.

Peebles took control in overtime as Justice scored the first five points in OT. Then Peebles was able to stay in control by hitting some key free throws and they played very smart by keeping the ball in the hands of their only two remaining starters who hadn't fouled out, Justice and Andrew Seaman and they were the ones who converted most of the free throws.

Eastern played very hard in the game and just flat-out dominated Peebles on the glass as they had close to 30 offensive rebounds. They weren't as big as Peebles, but seemed to be stronger and more physical inside. They were able to get a lot of stick-backs or get to the FT line to score.
# 23 for Eastern had a very good game and hit several threes. As a team Eastern probably hit 10 threes on the night.

Great game to see, that's for sure!!
