As mentioned above, as the guards go so does Bellaire. Yoho, soph. averaged 17 ppg last season as a frosh and was all district. This season he is averaging at 19 plus. JMS the transfer from Shadyside set the Bellaire school record earlier this season in making 35 free throws in a row. Team does play average D. Weakness, not counting the guards the rest of the team are poor FF shooters.

Ok so John Michael nails a 3 with 2 seconds left to give Bellaire a 1 point lead. The Cadets then call a timeout gets it halfcourt then kicks in the corner for a game winning corner 3 pointer.

Two plays of the game.....First goes to Coach Henniger for putting Anderson on Yoho in the second half. Yoho had 19 in first half, and 3 in second half.
Second goes to Carter Lang....2.4 secs left in OT with Cadets down one. Ball out FF,Layton pass to Kiefer at half court, Pass to Lang down in corner (his favorite place to hang out), ball in orbit before buzzer, splashdown....game over. Cadets win, Crowd happy.

Now that my nerves have calmed, a lot better defense by all the Cadets in the second half.
Free throw shooting by FF was terrible tonight.
Cadet only lead came late in the game, probably around the 3 min. mark.
Bellaire's Chase Yoho is the real deal, pure shooter, and very good ball handler, and he's only a Sophomore.

Correction.....
Cadets did not lead in game until overtime.
Carter Kiefer tied game at end of 4th quarter with a long three.

Cadets might get a rematch with Magnolia who they lost to in a thriller last year. Magnolia defending WV state champs.

Monroe Central at Magnolia in New Martinsville tomorrow night Thursday 2-11.

Yea they are good in both sports. Won state last year in bball and are lead by Preston Boswell a 2000 point scorer.

Magnolia is really good again this year. Not as good as last year IMO, but still really good.

Without Campbell, they rely 100% of the time on Boswell. He's averaging 30+, so that seems to be working for them.

Blain, Ritz and Winters are capable players, but IF you can stop Boswell, they are beatable. Hasn't been many to do that though. Only chance is to stop them in transition, where he gets most of his points, both on layups and on 3's in the secondary break.

Cadets just got to get up for the game like they did vs Williamstown , Caldwell,Warren 2nd game and 2nd halves vs Harrison and Bellaire. Fort Frye has a nice team they just need to stay focused and play their game. Shoutout to coach Henniger for calling that play last night on the buzzer beater.
