The 2025-26 Sports Calendar has kicked-off, who are the transfers of note affecting the roundball landscape in SEO?

Post by pfloyd »

It's official, 2025-26 high school sports are rolling! Friday Night Football for the next 2 1/2 months THEN roundball kicks in...graduation of players from last years squads are huge - Minford with their Big 3 - Montgomery/Kayser/Shoemaker, South Webster- Roberts/Shuppert ... Fairland - Buchannan, Polcyn, Smith, Warren losing 100% of their scoring including All Ohio guard Julian Stadelman ... THAT'S ALL out of anyones hands - teams move on ... BUT now that school has started up, players are now officially IN schools where they will be playing ball ... Who are the players who have transferred into new districts for the upcoming year/season? Players that will be difference makers?

... I'll start things off with a couple MAJOR "transfer portal" moves:

* 6-5 Reed Brinager to Southern from Meigs
* 6-4 Grady Barber to Williamsburg from Eastern Brown
* 6-3 Colben Beucler to Meigs from Oak Hill
* ??????????

Thanks burgpirater ... with Adkins staying at Portsmouth THAT will be a BIG boost for the Trojans as Adkins didn't play during the regular season for PHS due to injury ... good information! ( I had forgotten about Adkins' transfer for last school year and not getting to play with the season ending injury) ... here's what trojandave had to say on his Trojan thread :

"With the roster they have now, they can easily go 8-9 deep, and that doesn't include 6-2 Logan Adkins, who is still on the mend from knee surgery in January. He may be medically cleared by August or September."

Heard some rumblings in the summer of a move from Peake to Fairland, but I'm not sure if it ended up happening. It was a multi-year starter for Peake, so it would definitely be impactful for a team with state title hopes.

Lots of rumblings in the SVC as well, but no confirmation on any of those as well. So, basically, I'm not adding anything of substance to this topic.

... you media guys are all alike - hyping the topic, peaking our interest, then not telling us anything of substance until the NEXT show - MAYBE! LOL ... the OVC traditionally is a league where "movement" over the years between schools happens ... even getting some of those players from "foreign" teams across the Big River ... Fairland lost a lot BUT they return 2 "dudes" in Trevor Lochow and Cliff Fransen - add another proven player off of a loaded Chesapeake team - could make them viable in the 2025-26 season ... I haven't heard anything on either fronts, if Chesapeake had lost some PLAYER I'm guessing peake71 would have posted something ...

... good luck with the Fall season coverage daniC !

... yes, Coach Speed stepped aside, still at Fairland but took on a administrative position I believe ... new coach is Coach Scott Thomas, with Luke & Clayton Thomas to be assistant coaches along with Coach Ibby Djimde ... Coach Zack Tooley will stay on from Coach Speeds staff of last season ...
