West brings a 9-3 record into this contest vs an undefeated Pirates team. What’s everyone’s thoughts?

With the way West is playing right now I def think they can compete in this game. But wheelersburg should be able to handle west’s pressure defense. I think burg will come out with the victory, but west will play hard and make them earn it.

Wheelersburg IS an Elite 8 TEAM , Coach Ater does a great job - always has - getting his teams ready for the tough games ... I've watched a few of the Burg games - both games with Valley, South Webster, @ Portsmouth ... the Burg does what the Burg DOES - gets better every time they take the floor - Miller is a solid pg that doesn't get the props he deserves - imo he's one of the few players who actually doesn't mind taking, making the midrange jumper ... Swords a is threat to knockdown the three ball anytime down court, McCorkle does a nice job down low and makes the 6-8 foot shot around the rim ... then you have JJ Truit - he does it all - boards at both ends, his perimeter shot is money and gets better each game out ... looking forward to seeing Portsmouth West ! - I've read a lot about the Westsiders, they are one of the TEAMS with an " * " on the pfloyd big board as they keep winning ... have beaten the teams they should beat and gone on the road and beaten a Waverly team that just moved back into the Elite 8 tonight by beating Jackson by 12 ... I'm tuning in to the livesteam with my napkin stat sheets in hand - should be a good game no matter what angle you look at it from ... best of luck to both teams ...

This might be one of the biggest Wheelersburg v West games on the hardwood in history!

I do know that West swept Wheelersburg in 84-85 as the combination of Hamilton and Jordan led the West Side to an Undefeated 20-0 campaign and a district championship before losing to The Steubenville Big Red.

West started out hot, being tied at the half. It was a quick change for Burg coming out of the locker room and the rest was history. Burg is a GREAT team. Shoutout to their coaching staff to shut West down in the 2nd half. West has nothing to hang their head on. They played great besides that 3rd Q. Both teams are as advertised.
