Waverly just shut everything down didn’t they?
Yep, they sure did. And leave it to little with the homophobic slurs. The levels some stoop to on a website.

But what if there is a female involved and its accidental? Then is it ok? and atleast he is hiding behind a username and no one knows who he is

I feel for the Waverly players.

A virus that has minor effects on them and a tremendously low death rate has now taken even more of their season away..... all because of the decision by adult(s).

I hope they can resume play soon but with the announcement to shut it all down I can't see that being very likely.

Good news is, I'm sure the students and players will all safely stay in their houses, socially distance, and wear a mask when around others to slow the spread..................

I’m guessing they resume after break. The issue I have is the contact tracing. Quarantining healthy kids because they could have possibly brushed up against a kid who tested positive is absolutely asinine. It defies any logic or common sense

The Ghost of Swanker wrote: Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:01 pm Exactly. Waverly is out because somebody went and caught it and passed it to a kid who goes to Miami Trace which i don’t even know where that is, and now 20 kids from pike county are sidelined. Maybe all of their parents should stay home from work too BUT if they already went to work, now that whole company needs to quarantine, in the name of safety.

I’ve been kinda nice to refs this year. I’m like the water leak on a dam. You plug that hole and another pops out.
Sadly you seem proud of that?

Actually it doesn’t because you don’t know if the healthy kid caught it and then will pass it on to others, some of who may be at risk. That’s exactly the purpose of quarantine is to stop the thread. Sadly your other option at this time is shut it down like spring sports. I bet you’d really be happy then?

Healthy kids don’t pass the GD virus. Asymptomatic people aren’t getting other people sick. Do like we’ve always done and separate the symptomatic person from the healthy and let the rest move on. Just like we’ve always done with every virus that’s ever spread in the entire universe since it’s inception.

Not proud at all. It’s some type of character flaw I’m working on but there is only so good in me.

It's incredibly disappointing we still deal with any sort of discrimination or bigotry in 2020. Research shows that 8-10 percent of all people are members of the LGBTQ community, regardless of whether others know it or not. That also means many of the very players mentioned and discussed on here are may have been neglectivly impacted by previous comments. There's a reason the suicide rate for LGBTQ youth is 10-15 times that of their peers, and crap like this is one of them. I'm not trying to shame anyone. Folks just need to be cognizant that words matter.

You know he is talking about an actual dam that holds water back. Like the dam holding back his negative comments towards refs. Stopping one negative comment and another one pops out. Nothing to do with LGBTQ.

It’s more like 3.5-4.5% and only about 10% of that number actually read this site and I’m guessing 99% of them would’ve laughed because it was a joke and they have more of a sense of humor than you.

Plus I voted for Joe Biden so I’m good

Biden and Hillary? Be careful, they may chase you off this page or southern Ohio. Again, I don't think your post is a direct representation of your views, and you likely didn't mean anything by it. It's more of a cultural thing. I'll always bring focus to stuff like that because nothing will change if folks don't.
