Meigs @ Jackson 1/7
Meigs @ Jackson 1/7
Haven’t heard much of Meigs since watching them nearly make the ridiculous upset of Burg last year.
Bartum gone (dad on playoff sideline now)
Baer still there? A senior? He was very good.
Coulter Cleland playing? If so one of the most talented sophomores around.
Jackson should hold court. Hopefully they are fresh and ready to better defend the perimeter and rebound. Just keep improving! Off to a great start and chance for a special season.

Looks like Baer, Musser and Cleland are their top players.
They defeated some bad teams and have no wins over good teams. Looks like best game was losing to Athens by 2 and losing to Fisher Catholic by 3

I know Baer is very good and they have a talented sophomore class. But, I don’t see Meigs winning this game
I’ll take Wallis and the Ironmen by 13

Last year at their place we were up like 25 and about blew it. Wallis went for 33 or 36danicalifornia wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 6:01 pm I know Baer is very good and they have a talented sophomore class. But, I don’t see Meigs winning this game

Re: Meigs @ Jackson 1/7
I can't see Meigs beating the Ironmen, especially the game being at Jackson. Baer is a great player but I don't see that being enough to win the game. Whoever guards Wallis will be getting in foul trouble, I would be willing to bet on that.
Re: Meigs @ Jackson 1/7
Meigs isn't bad and as pointed out has played some teams pretty tough. Jackson is sort of a one-man band, relying on Wallis to be "on" every night all night may cause Jackson to lose one they shouldn't lose to a "lesser on paper team". Not sure this is one of them though lol.
Re: Meigs @ Jackson 1/7
Very good point, I've even thought that myself a few times. Any player regardless of how talented they are can always have an off night.Dandy Don wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 7:30 pm Meigs isn't bad and as pointed out has played some teams pretty tough. Re: Meigs @ Jackson 1/7
Indeed, Weston Baer and Coulter Cleland return. Both are exciting shooters to watch; saw them string together a flurry of 3’s late in the third quarter last Friday, with Cleland strapping up a trey uncontested from the scorers table.
My guess is Jackson by 15+. Haven’t seen Jackson this year, but I know they’re supposed to be relatively tough this year in the SE D2 scene. Meigs seems like just an ‘OK’ D3 team. No disrespect intended.

Re: Meigs @ Jackson 1/7
While Wallis is the star of the team...his supporting cast is quite short of chopped liver.
In Jackson’s best win, Wallis had his fewest points.
Supporting cast:
Braxton Hammond 10+ points 6x
Boston Kuhn 10+ points 4x
Drew Bragg 10+ points 3x
Griffin Brown 8+ points 5x
Caden Donaldson 6+ points 5x
3 other players have scored 6+ in a game
Here are some Jackson players individual scoring in a game: 16, 14, 11, 15, 10, 11, 21, 10, 17, 12, 12, 11, 10, 11, 11....:none of these individual games was by Caleb Wallis

Jackson basically has 1 good player but he's really good. Reminds me of Lutz

Semantically, we disagree.Jackson has more than 1 good player. Have you only watched the game vs Chillicothe?
Re: Meigs @ Jackson 1/7
Yea but he’s really really goodRaider6309 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 8:41 pm Jackson basically has 1 good player but he's really good. Reminds me of Lutz
And one good player doesn’t get many teams to 8-2
Actually one of the kids out scored Wallis when they played us.
