Who is a Proven winner? My "tenure" wouldn't be long but Id have winning records. Teach kids to win! Everybody doesnt get to play the same, not everyone should get a trophy . Not everyone DESERVES one. Cmon, def doubt successful basketballJunky, sounds more like Socialismjunky or confusedjunky, Instead your location should say traveling ohio looking for like minded, misguided fellows looking to become average at others expense. Note: I didnt say clear out the whole time but in this circumstance it was a winning strategic tool.
You wouldn't last the first five games out. You're one of the grandstand coaches who think they know how to coach. They don't. And YOU don't.
Exactly, I agree 100%.

I wanted to argue with him, but once I realized he doesn't understand how the talent cycle works at small schools and it's "all coaching," I realized there was no point.

We all knew your stance stumble since on every one of your posts regarding coaching your kissing their butts and throwing every youth athletes parents under the bus whether they are great coaches or poor. You usually go on to talk about the Strong programs of Eastern (Exchange student express)Brown and the awesome programs of Latham. Ill give u Greenfield, he was a very good coach. Those are far and few between. Im sorry the reality bothers you, but if coaches agree to the job, the taxpayers of the district own you and yes they COULD be crazy. The coaches answer to the principals, AD they answer to the Super, he or she to the board and yes... they answer to the community. Even the community you insulted in an earlier post, Bainbridge. Who cares if they stuck around for them to get medals. I always did so the kids would not want to lose again even more. Its a dreadful feeling watching someone receive something that you desperately wanted. I do not agree that a single set of parents or group should run the show. There are several programs that have fallen victim to that. Still feel Wilmington could have won, they didn't.

Your quotes about coaches are very disturbing. Have you been to any of their practices or watched their interactions with players off the court? So much of coaching is done outside the lines. The schools you listed as having poor coaches or coaches that can't adapt to their players were all lacking in talent, size, depth, or all of the above. Most head coaches make about 5K-6K per year, yet put in countless hours in the weight room, gym, and office well beyond the season. They do it for the love of the game and for the relationships they build with their players.

"the taxpayers of the district own you and yes they COULD be crazy" I thought the old-fashioned days of indentured servitude were over a long time ago. No human being owns another human being. Congratulations on being a tax payer and doing what the law requires you to do. However, that doesn't give you the right to hide behind a screen name and bash people who you may or may not know on a public forum. If you are so concerned about the state of the game in your school district, or the ones that your relatives attend (yes, I know which one it is), submit a coaching application, or volunteer your time as an unpaid assistant to help the program get to the level you see fit. I, for one, would love to see your coaching resume.

Wilmington had the best team that I have ever seen in this area. Some of you are dogging out the coach, but in my opinion, he is an excellent coach. Could Wilmington have won? Absolutely. They probably should have won, but Moeller played an excellent game and Jaevin had an off night. I have the upmost respect for him. He is one of the best defensive players that I have ever seen in this area. He just had a bad shooting night. Jarron and Jaevin were the only two players who had the ability to score against Moeller.

Did you see the pressure that Wilmington was able to put on Moeller when they were able to set up their press? Their press almost turned the tide. Wilmington's coach demands that everyone play defense. I think that it is unfair to blame anyone for their loss. They were beaten by a good team who outplayed them on that night. Credit Moeller, but I think that Wilmington would beat them 8 times out of 10. Unfortunately, it was only a one game series. Great year Wilmington.

Wilmington had a good team, Things could have went differently. Enjoyed watching. We will see next year. Myra Fleener I'm not saying I'm the King of coaching or even a Prince of coaching, I'm more like the guy that cleans the horses for the Kingdom. As far as servitude, It sucks that people in power positions, in districts get control, they can wreck programs for years and has nothing to do with coaching Many want success but have misguided ideas. I have touched a nerve Myra but it is frustrating especially if a Coach is replaced for sub par coach. As for Volunteering, applying, most coaches find it hard to work together with others, its hard to find a meek, knowledgeable talented assistant, that follow you like an extension of you, add to the program without taking, but youre right. But thats what it takes. I'm Coming out of retirement.
