Eastern @ Southern 2-15-13 The Showdown Before The Showdown

Eastern travels to arch rival Southern Friday to close down Southern HIgh School. It will be the last game in the History of Southern High School as they are building a brand new place. This place will be a zoo, and with the rematch set for Feb. 26th it will be interesting to see how both teams approach this game.

This is the last game to be played on this court against our county rival. I certainly hope our team shows something to send the old gym out with a win.

Eastern coaches were out in full flock last night at the Alex/Southern game. I saw them sitting across the way it looked like a couple players were with them. Southern didn't seem worried about Eastern there, they played like 3 different defesnes against my spartans

I'm just saying when you play a team right before you have to play then in the tournament, you aren't going to give them you're game plan. The tournament game is way more important than this game tomorrow night

I would take this opportunity to do some things I would want to do in the tournament game. These two teams are rivals and play each other twice a year in conference, I doubt there are many secrets about what the others game plan. If you go out and execute it doesn't matter how good you've been scouted by the other team. I've heard coaches on the sidelines call out every pass, every screen and every cut as it was happening to his team on defense and the other team executed well and scored on the play. I'm not saying that knowing the opponents game plan isn't important or helpful, I just think execution wins more often than not

Btw Southern better pick things up bc if Eastern is hott as everyone says they are southern will be in trouble. They looked miserable last night, Drummer barely played bc of foul trouble and they couldnt get anything going on offense. From lookimg at Easterns scores teams arent scoring a lot of points. Good luck to both teams

Eastern has won 5 our of 6 and haven't allowed a team to score over 50 points in quite sometime

Wow thats pretty impressive according to tvc website they have held 6 of there last 8 under 50. 4 of those there opposition hasnt scored over 40. Sounds like coach britton finally has it going, I watched easterm play 5 pr 6 games last year they were in almost every game. Glad to see him and the Eagles having some success

This is game 22 of the season I doubt there are many secretes between these two teams. It is more important for a team to step up and make a statement before going into the tournament.IMO it will play way more on the losing team's psyche than trying to hide something for the tournament. This is Southern versus Eastern the last game on Charles Hayman Floor it better mean something!
