I don't think Grove or Burg make it out of the sectional.

I agree with Sparky I don't think it's a level playing field.

Burg may not make it out. But I wouldn't bet against Barrick come tourney time....

Even taking those two out, you still have two of Oak Hill, Ironton, Valley, Minford, Chesapeake, and Portsmouth done before the Districts.

Here is how I would rank these teams as of today. The number in the parenthesis is the seed I believe they would get if the draw was today.

1. Ironton (1) - They have piled up some impressive wins and their two losses are to big time teams from Florida
2. Valley (3) - Starting to play better...Two close losses to good teams...Tough OOC schedule and some quality road wins
3. Minford (4) - Very talented and starting to get it together....ND win looking better and better
4. Oak Hill (2) - Still trying to figure out the Waverly loss...Better record+Norm would probably get them the 2 as of today
5. Chesapeake (5) - All losses are to quality teams....No great wins yet, but I still think they are better than the other 6 teams
6. Coal Grove (6) - Hard to argue with their record...Win vs. West is looking better
7. Portsmouth (9) - Tough schedule..Not a team many people will want to see late in the year
8. West (8) - Got to see them hit 13 against Valley Friday...Improving team...Capable of beating anyone not named Ironton in this sectional
9. Wheelersburg (7) - I know they beat West, but having seen them both, I like West a hair better
10. South Point (10) - No good wins and have been drilled in their losses
11. Rock Hill (11) - Decent win over Wellston...not much other than that

We (Valley) were in the Waverly when I played in the late 90's/early 2000's. I don't remember when we left (I know it was post 2004), but at that point neither of those teams were at Waverly.

I believe Valleys last year in the Waverly sectional was 08-09 when we lost to westfall. I remember Wheelersburg and Minford also being in it that year but I'm not sure on Oak Hill.

Portsmouth has hit a fairly easy 5 game stretch, with Piketon being the only one I see that could challenge the Trojans. Looking for them to be 9-7 or 8-8 after the 5 game stretch. Tournament time is when it all matters anyways. Right? GO TROJANS!

Wow. Piketon the only team that "could" challenge Portsmouth? I know that the Trojans have played a tough schedule to this point, but to call the next five "easy" is a stretch. Portsmouth is 4-7. To get to 9-7 they would have to win at Piketon and at Ironton. I would also not overlook Logan (has a win over Chillicothe) and Whiteoak (won 4 in a row).

I think Portsmouth would feel good to get to 8-8. I know that the Trojans are a team not many will want to see in the tournament, but IMHO, I don't see Portsmouth at any better than 10-11 at the date of the draw.

Wheelersburg was in the Rock Hill sectional up to 2007 and they moved to the Jackson sectional in 2008 and have been there since. Oak Hill moved from the Athens sectional to the Jackson sectional at the same time.
