Huge matchup.
Both are very well coached...Warren seems to play at their high level more consistently....but Portsmouth of late has been killer. Edge to Warren at home....but a Portsmouth win here and look out.

Warren is a long, long trip and a difficult place to leave with a W.....not to mention Warren is excellent and extremely well-coached.
Portsmouth to Warren is about 115 miles.
Portsmouth to Warren is about 115 miles.
Re: Portsmouth @ Warren, 1/21/11
last 3 meetings with these two teams, has been dicided by less then 10 points all together, with Warren winning all 3.......hopefuly we can overcome that and come out of warren with a win, but like posted, Warren is a very good team so we have to play some good basketball.

Uhmmmm....I think you're lil mistaken Bigdgdowgg....If I recall right.....We just lost to Warren this year at Portsmouth....but we beat Warren last year, in (i believe) Horne's return game, at Warren....But we did lose the first match up last year at home.

i think the game will be close at first with p town pulling away late!! portsmouth wins by 10 or more!!!
Re: Portsmouth @ Warren, 1/21/11
Portsmouth and Warren are always good games. Warren by no means is playing at the level they should be, but keep finding a way to WIN, as you know. We saw the Trojan at Wellston and they looked real good. I am sure the game at your place is still in your heads. Should be another DANDY. Come on up and we will see. I will keep you posted on the condtions up here. Have a safe trip. Its a long one.

Good luck to both teams, but Portsmouth stays hot and keeps it rolling....PO by 8...

Should be a dandy, tough place to play, plus 115 miles plus, a real good team waiting for you spells a close game because Portsmouth is hot.

I honestly don't think it will be close....Portsmouth was up 16 late in the 3rd against Warren at Portsmouth but Warren went to a full court press that was Portsmouth's undoing....Portsmouth became unglued due to lack of ball handling and great D by the Warriors. With Bendolph back in the fold, I truly feel we can win by 20 or more.......because Wayne Evans can focus strictly on ball hawking defense (along with Andrew Bendolph) and making buckets, since he doesn't have to be the primary ball handler anymore.

Win by 20 at Warren against a team you already lost to? Negative...Comebacks such as the one Warren made at PHS are usually not "accidents" but rather very good coaching adjustments. I'll take Maddox and the Warriors at home by 3.

We've beaten Warren before after losing to them at home, just last year....and this Trojan team is better than last years Trojan team by far. I said it before, i'll say it again, this Trojan team with Bendolph is 20 points better than Warren. However, there's o doubt in my mind, that it was no accident that Warren won the game at Portsmouth...cause they exploited a weakness...and Warren quite possibly would beat us again if the situation were the same at Warren, that is, being without the best point guard in Southeastern Ohio....but if Warren's coaching staff thinks full court pressing Bendolph is a good adjustment this time around...that will be a fatal flaw........And pressing Portsmouth was precisely what Warren did to get back into the game at Portsmouth. I'd like to see what game plan Warren has for Portsmouth at Warren.
