SHL Week #4 Scores and Standings

Post by jchitwood »

Excuse me for a moment, while I speak to the Almighty:

What is it, Lord? Do you not like high school basketball? Why do you send us snow on Thursday nights? I trust that you have a plan for us, and we're thankful for all the good things we have. But please try not to cancel any games, and also look out for pfloyd.

There, now let's get to this week's games:

The Ripley Blue Jays (3-0) have had a long rest to prepare for a pair of games this week against St. Patrick's and Madeira. They should have no trouble with St. Pat's, but Madeira could give them a good game from what I've heard. Ripley always plays that tough western schedule.

The Peebles Indians (3-0) face off against Northwest Tuesday. Northwest's Dylan Brown was a Peebles student for years, so he'll be facing off against his former teammates. Dylan is sure to get a warmer reception than Lebron did when he came back to Cleveland.

An emerging North Adams team (2-1) and the Manchester Greyhounds (3-1) were going to face off in the Gym Down by the Rive, but the game has been postponed to January 15th.

Lynchburg Clay (1-3) will have their hands full when they host Blanchester. Fayetteville surprised me when they beat Blan right out the gate...could be a good game. Lynchburg will play Greenfield in the SCOL/SHL challenge.

Fairfield (0-4) is looking for their first win, playing Washington Courthouse on Thursday.

West Union (0-3) is also still looking for their first W when they host Potsmouth West.

Your Games:

Tuesday, Decemeber 21st
Blanchester 70
Lynchburg Clay 56

North Adams
Manchester (ppd to 1/15)

Northwest 45
Peebles 73

Portsmouth West 48
West Union 57

Wednesday, Decemeber 22nd
Ripley 64
Madeira 72

Thursday, Decemeber 23rd
Fairfield
Washington Courthouse

Lynchburg-Clay
Greenfield

Whiteoak
Hillsboro

lol...I'll fix it up sparky. I'm flying back to ohio in two days, and I'm trying to finish making presents for the grandkids. It's been a hectic week!

Lynchburg Trailer Blanchester by four at half time, but lost 70-56. You can read about it here: http://highlandcountypress.com/main.asp ... cleID=6210

I want to again say that the Highland County Press has the most up to date, thorough coverage in our area. They have an amazing sports editor there named Stephen Forsha.

Tribe, I was told by a former Ripley grad that the game Tuesday night was a girls game and not a boys game...a misprint of some sort on the schedule...

That explains so much...like why the game wasn't on the cincinnati enquirer's website.

Any scores from the SCOL/SHL Challenge? I heard LC was up late and Whiteoak was up 10 at half. I didnt expect any wins for the SHL teams considering the size differential in schools. If we won 2 of these it would be 2 great wins for the league.
