Final:

Marietta 4 11 9 23 -- 47
Warren 11 14 11 20 -- 56

Marietta cuts the lead to 38-33 with just less than two minutes left, but Warren makes 11 of 12 at the line from there on to increase the final margin.

There should have been two technicals called in that incident one on the marietta player and one on the warren player for starting it

Wow, great game...is it just me or did it look like etta's game plan had a lot to do with when venham gets the ball swarm him and hack the crap out of him. Man, he showed a lot of heart by getting back in there even though he could barely keep his eye open. But if u focus on venham it opens the gate wide open for cunningham, and its the same way when u focus on AC, venham seems to dominate. Wish both could do it on the same night. But awesome game from everybody, fivecoait, ellenwood hit needed shots, great defense by lang, knost got physical, hilvy good minutes, and hastie stepped up and hit a couple good shots. But what won the game was the incredible free throw shooting. Great job warriors, let's go stun portsmouth then get the heck outta there haha

Team--great game, great intensity. Lang was feelin it. Brandon Fivecoait and Grant Venham are the two most physical defenders in the league that aren't dirty.
Jace Knost--way to not take that lying down. I don't know that he started it, but I will agree that there were some very very questionable calls both ways in this game.

WHS students: great intensity, nice performance. You all know who I am, and I'm incredibly thrilled to have this group of people representing my(our) school.

The refs in this game were just consistant, CONSISTANTLY BAD THAT IS. The refs did not decide the outcome of this game the better team decided that for them. You Marietta people don't need to whine about playing two teams as you can't handle any team. Yeah nice gesture from the parent in the stands what a class act that was. I think it shows why some of their players and students are the way the are NO CLASS ( just taught that at home i guess). As for the game itself Warren dominatied except for a 30 sec stretch in which they gave up 8 points while up 17. The free throw shooting was just incredible (around 84% I would say) and sealed the sweet victory in the end. Now its time for some revenge @ Portsmouth Friday night. Play as a team, Stay strong and Work hard and the excellent results will happen for this team.

Ah the student section. Best effort from the students all season! Breaking out the old Warrior outfit was a nice touch and a good choice of classy cheers and not stoop to the other student sections level.

Etta11,

I don't care if you consider yourselves scrubs thats your choice. All I know is that in any rivalry game records don't matter much and we beat you.

Yes the JV's were just awesome tonight 5 players in double figures i would say that is an all around team effort. Great lead in game for the main event playing like that just seemed to get the student section going.

Good job Warriors....Rivalry games are tough to win, big crowd, noisy, Clutch free throws down the stretch!
Good to see the boys keep it under control. The Lang boy played big on D which hes good at, Ellenwood scored a little more... Thats the positives.....Negatives--I still cant see where the Warriors are going to get scoring from if someone stops The so-called Horses? This game isnt a switch where you can just turn on some offense if it hasnt been there all year? The Knost boy doesnt seem to want to shoot, except if hes within 5 feet...The Lang Boy doesnt seem to want to shoot that much either, No confidence??? Thats what I mean when I say Weapons....Upper League teams will start noticing that, and its gonna have to come from somewhere,,,,,Fivecoait is capable but seems that hes not interested only part of the time...Just like to see 4 players be in double figures 1 game...That would be HUGE! Tournament basketball will require this and until it happens....Warriors could be watching.

Jv Game-- One of the better games of the year Ive seen from a Team! Complete package from every aspect of the game! Started out on Fire!! The shooting from Ward and Henthorn early was a super start and they never looked back. The ball movement and sharing of the basketball was quite impressive. Once the Tigers started to make a run , then more offense from Hastie and the big men #22(Windland)? and Leffingwell kicked in...Some great passing from Ward and I dont think that Henthorn missed to many shots. Even The Proctor boy got some minutes and hit some free throws. I still like this Team Style Ball.

So Warrior Nation...Id say the next 2 weeks will be the deciding factor in the direction of the Team...Congrats ON THE TIGER VICTORY , ITS ALWAYS NICE TO BEAT A RIVAL, EVEN BACK SINCE THE BELPRE ERA!
 The sun comes out tmrw

Great game Warriors. Much closer than I expected and the free throw shooting was what won it in the end. Some observations on my part are the refs were horrible (both ways) and I was shocked and embarrassed by the dad from warren (his boy was in the fight) who stood up and made his own obscene gesture to the marietta team, fans, whoever. And then we wonder why our kids act the way they do?

Good luck at Portsmoth.
