Look out for the jeeps. Wasn't clay picked pretty high for soc1?

yes but the drop off in athletes from soc 1 to 2 is even worse than it has been in recent years, soc 1 is really down

Great way to start off the season for the Jeeps. I don't care who you're playing, to win by 20+ pts. on the road is always a good thing. Anybody got the stats?*

Not sure what you mean by the drop-off. SW has 108 boys to Clay's 53, if that's what you mean. Clay has the talent on this years team, just making way to many TO's. They pulled back to with 8 points a couple of time in the third quarter and got it under 10 a few times in the fourth but then costly TO's would take their chance to close the gap. Their was one old ref who called "carrying the ball" on both teams over and over. He got Bussler at least 4 times, Valentine 3 times and Conner Scot for SW at least 2 times. These boys dribble the ball like that all their lives and then one old ref suddenly thinks it's a carry.

CLAY 13 - 14 - 12 - 11 50
SW 20 - 16 - 15 - 21 72

CLAY
BUSSLER -18
VALENTINE -10
PORTER -8
BURCHETTE -4
GRAHAM -5
LAWSON -2
DELOTTEL -2
DUDUIT -1

SW
W. LOOP -21
SCOTT -17
A. LOOP -12
MILLER -8
MALONE -2
SUTTON - 2

Radio stats said SW shot 25 of 47 overall to Clay's 17 -32 (Clay's 28 turnovers to SW 10 was the factor in amount of shots taken). Clay had 23 rebound to SW 11?. This game was won and lost again on the Turnover ratio. Two games in a row Clay has a - 18 in TO's. SW was very quick and athletic. Scott scored 14 in the first half and Clay's adjustment on him kept him to 3 in the second, but Loop picked up the slack after only scoring 4 in the first half he hit for 17 in the second. Bussler shot well, hitting 2 threes and made some nice jumpers from 12 - 15 feet. Porter was the only factor of Clay's three big men. Clay won the rebound game but missed point blank put backs. Clay plays Tuesday at Minford and SW plays Portsmouth. Good luck to both teams.

ps It was nice to see a team actually hold the ball at the end of the game. SW earned my respect for not firing up a buzzer three.

MD, I am not sure if you are aware of it, but Clay has not played a SOC I team yet, so what do you have to judge the Clay faithful by yet?

I'm aware of the tough schedule Clay has played. my comment was just towards the hometown fans who pick Clay to win the Soc 1 . they seem to be a little overzealous in their pick's . I see them more as a 2nd place at best , or 3rd maybe.

Coach out there was very unimpressive in his game management the only time I saw them last year. He was so overexcited , it appeared the kids reflected that. They just lose it. IMO only MD

I understand your point, but what team, before the season starts, doesn't feel they have a shot at the Title. With that said, I still think Clay has a shot to win the SOC I. Several of the boys had a bug last weekend. They only had 7 show up to practice on Thursday due to sickness. Whether or not they could have won either game isn't really the point. I just think they have been a much better team in scrimmages and practice than what we saw Friday and Saturday. The team that played HHS in the foundation game could have won either of the weekend games. So we will just have to wait and see.
