I wish he would come back to, the way it is looking, i don't think it is going to happen.

Looking from the Portsmouth faithful?? If you have noticed they have only said things that they have heard. Jeff is staying at Piketon.

Nothing official yet. He was renewed officially at Piketon several weeks ago by the board. Portsmouth is announcing tomorrow night to meet the coach. Dont put everything you hear on the web as the gospel! Wishful thinking by the Portsmouth faithful!

QUOTE: All right, here's the latest. There was a board meeting last night. Jeff's accepted the job. There will be a meet the coach night at Portsmouth High School on Thursday May 14th @ 7:00. You heard it here first. In conclusion, be proud Trojans and be understanding Redstreaks.
This came for the Portsmouth thread. I know you can't believe everything you read, but I'm telling you that TrojanDave is confirming, and he knows everything about Trojan basketball. I'm thinking it is a done deal.
Bring on Scott Legg. He will do Piketon a fine job. Let me add, this is a great job to have. Three starters returning, a solid JV team, a solid freshman team, and a group of held back 8th graders that were good to begin with coming to high school. The future looks pretty solid as far as talent goes at Piketon right now. Take the bull by the horns and run!!!
SEE YA Coach Lisath.....good luck in the SEOAL and the travel that comes with it!

It's not a done deal as we thought in Portsmouth.......apparently the "Meet the Coach" night has been put on hold.........which should be interpreted as good news for the Piketon fans........
As far as I'm concerned, with this latest delay........I am done posting on this subject and all threads pertaining to it.......they can name whomever they want whenever they want!!!

Just because he was renewed dosent mean he's staying. There have been a lot of coaches that have been renewed that hit the highway anyway.eagles73 wrote:Nothing official yet. On May 13th Piketon's AD is posting that Lisath may not be leaving after he has already been hired by the Portsmouth Board? Not sure I understand that one.

Re: WHO WILL BE THE NEXT PIKETON BASKETBALL COACH?
I have been watching the Jeff Lisath saga unfold over the last week. Having watched Jeff play and coach for many years I have recognized that he has a flair for the dramatic. Jeff is a great coach, but Jeff also likes the spotlight. Thus you have the saga playing out instead of just making a decision and moving on. I am of the opinion that if he wants to go to P-town go, if he wants to stay at Piketon stay. Piketon has had good coaches before and will have good coaches again. I guarantee that as soon as he resigns there will be 100 excellent applicants ready to go. Good luck coach, but give the kids from P-Town and Piketon a decision so they can prepare for next season. It is about the kids not about Coach Lisath.

Dead on!! Great post!!
Re: WHO WILL BE THE NEXT PIKETON BASKETBALL COACH?
Dead on?? I highly doubt there will be 10 people put in for the job let alone 100. I hope Lisath stays he does a great job but if he doesn't my guess is piketon will stay close by on the new coach

Re: WHO WILL BE THE NEXT PIKETON BASKETBALL COACH?
i would guess more than 10 would apply but........... FARRRRRRRRRR less than 100

Re: WHO WILL BE THE NEXT PIKETON BASKETBALL COACH?
Ok, "take everything literally guys" the point of saying 100 will apply is that there will be plenty of quality candidates. Lisath is a good coach, but there are plenty of good coaches around.
