Northern Ohio ice fishing

With freezing conditions underway for the last few weeks, ice fishing is off to an early start and the guys are out in full force. Mosquito Lake looks like a city on ice with, red, blue and black fishing huts scattered over the lake, in addition to the foolish who sit out in the open over the windy 11 mile long lake. Mosquito has big walleye and jumbo crappies in big numbers. Elsewhere, Pymatuning Lake, Berlin Lake, Lake Milton and West Branch are also hotbeds for ice fishing. The forecast is for continued cold temps, so it looks like a very long season for ice fishing this year. Catches have been impressive for weeks.
