Has anyone had the pleasure of seeing any in the area yet this year?

I know last winter quite a few were sighted at Lake White in Waverly and out around Omega just north of Waverly. I have never seen one in the wild around here but have been out looking for them a good amount.

not sure how close it is to you but there have been sightings on wv side of the racine locks and dam.

You can google : bald eagle live cam. and it will come up with many live cam's. you can watch them up close in their nest pretty much 24/7. It's pretty interesting to watch from egg, being hatched and watching the adults bring back food, feeding. Nothing edited. I would say most are pretty slow right now. Most eggs are layed in February. If I come across some of the better sites, I'll post a link to them later.

We see them every year between the gallipolis locks and dam and crown city right above the crop fields on Rt. 7 and occasionally they venture out into some pasture fields a few miles into the country

YES, THEY ARE HERE AT LAKE WHITE IN WAVERLY. I THOUGHT AT FIRST THEY WERE OSPREY'S. BUT ASKED AROUND, AND THEY ARE EAGLES I WAS SEEING. IN THE FALL ONE SWOOPED DOWN RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY DOCK, AND GRABBED A SMALL CARP.

I think you'd be hard pressed to mistake an Osprey for a Bald Eagle Bait. Them Bald Eagles are a good bit bigger. However, I do think a lot of people do

I watched a young one, two years ago at Grayson Lake, attempting to catch a duck that was in the water. It was a young Eagle (didn't have it's white head yet or tail) and it made a half dozen swoops down and each time, the duck would dive down under the water. Finally, that young Eagle gave up and flew over me. It was the biggest I've ever seen, had to be a female, with a wing span that was easily over 7 foot.

Just saw one...about twenty minutes ago...just West of Sciotoville RR bridge.....a bunch of ducks taking off from river caught my eye. a mili second later down came the Eagle....must not have been too hungry just flew on up river.

Bald eagles are like rats where i work.

I've always hoped that Bald Eagles around this part stay somewhere between not seen often to what you see Boonedawg. I'd hate for them to start seeming like pigeons

Pretty hard to think of them as pigeons. They are way bigger and if they want what you have....you ARE going to drop it and back away.....lol They are very tame around the canneries up there...they have no fear of people for sure.

Well, I was just thinking of the way you talked about them in the past, how they were a nuisance a lot of the times. My nephew thinks they got their dog on San Juan Island a couple years back.

I have read they can easily break a grown man's arm with their talons. Hard to believe that something that really isn't that big (as far as it's body weight) could be that strong. How many men could break another man's forearm by just squeezing it?

They are bigger than most folks think.

I saw a male and what I think was a female in Hanging Rock 2 weeks ago. Setting in a tree over looking the river.
