Favorite "one hit wonder" song

Well....This should be a good one. That singer or group who had THAT one song that hit the Billboard Top 40. You know....that one!

For me: I gotta go back to March 1973. The song actually came out in late '72 but, started gaining radio play in March....reaching a #16 spot in late '73. Simple song....simple lyrics...and crazy enough for alot of kids (like me) to sing it.

From 1966 the Music Explosion and "Little Bit of Soul". The ME was a garage band from Mansfield, Ohio.

"All the Young Dudes" by Mott the Hoople. Made it to #37 on the US charts in 1972

"Layla"....Derek & the Dominoes ('72)

Clapton won a grammy in 1994 for his acoustic version.

The late Duane Allman played lead on original recording...if I remember correctly
