I've been hearing about it but seen that radio shack now sells them I wondered if anyone has one for the their phone service?? I'd love to go back to cable internet and oust At&t phone and internet service...

its just like vonage. it takes away from your internet speed though. we have vonage at work and its terrible because you only get so much bandwidth and have to share between phone, internet and faxes. be careful with magicjack though, that map they showed very briefly at the end of the commercial scares me. check on the coverage area.

thanks for the info we are covered but now its got me thinking if it takes away from the speed of the internet I would have cable hooked back up if I did this I wonder if it would be better

from what i understand it uses your internet connection for phone calls and internet. when you are on your phone, it will take away from your internet speed but i dont know how much. it might not matter with one household. just be careful. good luck.

I know a guy that has it and he loves it.The pnly problem with his he can't have it hooked up and burn anything at the sametime

we don't have time warner here.. we have a locally owned cable wish they did have phone

It's terrible on the other end. Had a conversation today with my gf using it. It was worse than some cheap 90s cell.

The magic jack is the same as any VOIP program. There is a delay in when you say something and the time the other person hears it. And depending on how far it has to travel to the other person through the "hops" the longer the delay is.
