What day is it on this year? memorial day is on a saturday I think and observed during the week? so which day is the parade

I thought Memorial Day is always the last Monday in May, regardless of the date.

Fido, the OBDTF will be sponsoring a float again this year and if you can make it home you are more than welcome to ride on it.......as you can see there will be plenty of refreshments..................

That sure is a fancy float. I can see where the OBDTF would need to ride in comfort and have plenty of refreshments on board to keep from getting dehydrated.

Besides that, at the speed most of us walk, we'd really hold up progress and cause significant delays!

I believe Memorial/Decoration Day was designated a National Holiday in 1868.

Ironton has managed to hold some sort of Parade every year since. Other cities/towns were forced to forego holding a "parade" in some year or other [particularly during the WW I and WW II years], but Ironton has managed to put together something no matter what every single year.

Some of the beverages served from the float has a tendency to make you cover the same territory twice. :shock: :shock: :lol:

You mean not even counting the "age" and "disability" factors??? How "kind" of you!
BTW - I'd go for the "beverages" - forget the "float", or the "parade" either, for that matter - but TTT would beat me to them! He's fast for an old guy!
